How do I create an account in Turnitin?

Turnitin is a text matching tool that is used for some courses at UniSQ.

In order to understand the process, and understand the reports from Turnitin, ICT Training has created an online self-paced course, that is free for all students.

1.    Click this link 
2.    Click Self-enrol 
3.    Click on the desired course

Turnitin is a plagiarism checker and lecturers can choose between 2 different options when requesting students check their assignments for plagiarism.

  1. Turnitin-within StudyDesk: With this option, the plagiarism checking is automatically done when you submit your assignment.  You may not see any reference to Turnitin until after the assignment is uploaded.
     

    An account is automatically created for you, so you don't need to create an account.

  2. Turnitin-Website: This is when you are asked to visit the Turnitin website and submit your assignment for checking, obtain an Originality report and upload this report with your assignment via the StudyDesk.
     

    To create an account in Turnitin for the first time, follow the instructions below 

    1. Note the relevant Turnitin class ID and password from your StudyDesk course
    2. Go to the Turnitin website ( www.turnitin.com)
    3. Click Create account
    4. Select to create a student account
    5. Enter the Class ID, password and other information
    6. Read the User agreement and if you agree, click the I agree…Create Profile button

    Your account has now been created
