Been a Liberty Bank customer for decades. Also a TD Bank customer. Decided to move some money from TD Bank to Liberty Bank, so I had TD Bank wire over a significant deposit to Liberty. Liberty had the nerve to charge a $10 fee for the incoming deposit. Went to the branch I've used for decades. They said they can't reverse fees, but to call the Liberty line. The first Liberty line representative said she'd get back to me on reversing the fee within a couple of days. Weeks later, she never called back. The representative I spoke with today said that fees are in the updated disclosure documents and he will not reverse it. If Liberty Bank is so eager to charge fees that they are now charging for deposits, I will certainly take my deposits and my banking to TD Bank. Liberty Bank is not what it was years ago. I'd advise you to consider the fees very carefully before you choose to bank with Liberty Bank.
They sell your personal information;my wife and I applied for a mortgage for an investment property, and then suddenly I'm inundated with telemarketers trying to sell me loans from their company. I wouldn't be suspicious, but they knew specific information about what I had applied for. Don't use this bank.
I go on at midnight, knowing I have a deposit for the morning and it won’t even show it to me as, “Pending” ?? Been a customer for over ten years! Give me a freakin break! Also, had current card for six years, want me to PAY to replace it! News flash! Your cards are not made of titanium! They wear out!
Liberty Bank contacted ME (again they contacted ME) that there might be some fraudulent charges on our debit card. We checked and there were totaling about $160. One was for a raffle for cookware another from a gym membership and another for a VPN account. The next day we went to the bank and cancelled the card and got a replacement. They bank could not do anything with the transactions at the time because they were "Pending" We left the next day for vacation and returned a week later and went to the bank to fill out the fraudulent claim paperwork. Approximately 10 days later we received letters saying they were valid transactions. We then called Liberty and they said they would send us the docs involved in them calling valid transactions. Never got them. Called again and basically told them "why would come to bank the next day, cancel my card, get a new one, then the same day we get back from vacation go to the bank to fill out paperwork. For my health? So Liberty Bank is relying on some fraudulent data they got instead of an life long customer. Unfortunately Liberty is the only bank in my town and if there was one called Joe's Bank or Not safe Bank I would pull my accounts in a minute. All the good this bank fid for me over the past 50 years went away when they believe some fraudulent person and not a life long customer. Stay Away if you want to keep your money safe.
Since changing to a "new improved website" their electronic bill pay doesn't work. And no response to email. I chose a local bank hoping for better customer service, but this was not a good choice.
During my checking account time there was an problem ,I spent minor amounts an a Thursday and firday with my debit card, unfortunately my young child did some charges on my account card, on Monday I notified booking of these charges and she said she would leave for bank manager, before all this started on the Saturday before I checked account balance it was five dollars on avaliable ballance, the three debit transactions came out the following Tuesday, leaving me short, available balance was five dollars ,then in the mist of me trying to get the other charges put back ,thay suppose took the charges of these three debit transactions out. Then the app changed and said that t was short ,another way this bank steals your money,,
This is the absolute worst banking service I’ve ever experienced. Out-dated processes and rude passive aggressive CS Agent.
7/8- My card was declined at Spa which was extremely embarrassing. Shortly after I paid my bill, I receive a text message asking was it me and my card would be restored in 3-5 minutes.
7/15- I called to update my address as there is no option to do so online in the year of 2022. I sent over the requested documents to SF the same day. I signed via PDF and a wet signature, DL, and updated lease. Today 7/21 my address is STILL not updated. 7/21- My card was declined at RaceTrac and Sherwin Williams. I used my card locally 3 other times today with no problem. I called CS and spoke with SF. She mentioned attempting to use a PIN and it was wrong. I explained, I never use my PINs on any of my accounts. My Liberty account is for random things. She went on being very sarcastic asking did I have a PIN or did I know my PIN. Ma’am, you have to be joking. This is CONSISTENT POOR service. SF mentioned sending me a new card and for me to verify my mailing address. I gave her the address THAT I JUST CHANGED on last with WITH HER. She went on to mention she had another address. I told her I sent all documents over to last week. She ask who did you send it to, “I said you, SF” She goes on to say oh, I think I may have tried to contact you, we cant take those kind of signatures. I explained, I signed digitally and a wet signature. She stated that a new card would be sent out. I will no longer be a member here after the month of July. Unbelievable poor service and 1980 practices. Its freedom here? Yeah, right. It’s 1980 here.
If you mostly use the ATM, do not use this bank. Their ATM services are horrible. It’s out of service more than it’s in service. It is a big inconvenience.

Lots of ridiculous fees, poor customer service, they'll ignore your emails. You're limited on the amount of transactions and it's a hassle from account opening and it gets worse. Stay away from this bank unless you want to flush money down the drain in fees. I will be closing my account asap and going back to PNC, awful banking experience! Even their account opening and funding process is a nightmare. Once your account is open, their true colors come out. Sad excuse for a bank and I wouldn't recommend them to my worse enemy! Wish I could give them zero stars!
My CD allowed me to invest more at the same rate. At the branch they insisted I was mistaken. I had to escalate it for them to honor their contract. I'll be taking all my money out of Liberty Bank.

I was trying to refinance my mortgage and what a bad experience I had with one of the mortgage consultant his name Peter G. . Its like they don't want to give you money and they keep changing the the closing cost on you, they tell you one thing on phone and they send you document to sign with different info. please people stay away.
It seems as if the positive reviews are ALL fake.. look at how the post are worded. They all sound alike and they all seem to be robotic. Sad when you have to make fake post to counteract the real negative reviews. Run a better bank and you won’t have so many negative reviews
Absolute terrible bank to have to deal with as a seller. Ended up costing me over $1400.00 due to notifying my lawyer the day before the closing that we would not close on the closing date. Causing additional boarding for our pets, hotel nights, storage fees,, etc. due to relocating out of state. Would NEVER recommend for mortgages or deal w/ Liberty Bank in any way!!!!!
This bank is absolutely horrible. I’ve never had my card declined until I made the switch from Chase to Liberty Bank. I got caught up in the call to #BankBlack and thought I’d give this company a shot. It was the worst decision of my black life, as it turns out that there is a LIMIT on how often you can access YOUR OWN MONEY and you’ll be penalized for trying to withdraw more than 7 times. Also, my card declines with such regularity it is anxiety inducing. Even when you know you have money, you will get declined at any and every venue — grocery stores, gas stations, stores, restaurants. You won’t be able to access your money and to make matters worse, there won’t be a representative to speak with about your concerns unless it’s during business hours. Everything about banking with this company is wholly inconvenient and they will screw you over financially. I would never recommend this bank and can’t wait to re-open my account with Chasr as quickly as possible. Forget banking black....don’t let these folks add additional stress during a freaking pandemic. Take your money and peace of mi d elsewhere!!!
If you have a loan with LB, you will never be able to apply for a lower rate. Lower rates are NOT for existing customers. You will be charged overdraft fees even if there is $ in your account to cover. Pending fees are viewed as past withdrawal s. App does not work. Take your $ elsewhere.
