I had been a customer for about 20 years! Most of the branches were aware that I had a sizable estate settlement coming from my parents. This week I was trying to open a very substantial annuity. The customer service department was contacted by me because I needed to know how to get an appointment with an advisor. Well I called a young guy named Brian who I was referred to by customer service. When I got him on the phone he tried to dismiss me by saying he wanted to refer to one of his buddies. His buddy never reached out to me. I placed a complaint call to the bank only to have a voicemail left on my cell with a woman names Jill Honeycomb complaining in a rant that she was displeased that I complained about Brian and furthermore said that I'm not a good fit for them and I should take my inheritance elsewhere to get an annuity! Wow so $450,00 0 isn't a " good fit" !! Yikes!! I'm sure any other bank will be delighted! Must be nice to alienate us " poor people" because you only open annuities for Politicians and BILLIONAIRES!! Shame on you Jill Honeycomb the Narcissist!! Seriously you deserve to be publicly berated!!

I have owned my business for over 23 years, and in that period of time, I have been with a few banks, both big and small. But at the end of the day, it is always the same thing, until one day a friend of mine mentioned Liberty Bank downtown New Haven. Well, after a horrible experience at Citizens Bank, I was willing to try anything, so I moved my three business and personal accounts to Liberty Bank in New Haven at 153 College Street, and suddenly it was like a new beginning for me and my business. It's really hard for me to explain the level of personalized attention that I get at this bank. Here I am not a number; I am a customer, a person, and the level of customer service that I get here is unheard of in this industry. Of course, it would not be fair not to mention Anthony Echevarria, Marino Civitillo, Michael, and Damaris the manager. They make me feel that their only job is to make my life super easy.
I must say that in 23 years, I have never received this elevated level of customer service anywhere. I am super happy to be with this bank, and I will be here until I retire.
Thanks to the whole crew for such an amazing job. Keep up the good work...!!!

Hello, two months ago my online banking was hacked. I've been a customer for over 12 years, and as of November 1st, 2024, they shut down all my accounts and told me to find another bank. They are blaming me for fraud on my account that I reported to them. Do not use Liberty Bank; they are not to be taken seriously.

Liberty Bank is absolutely horrible. The customer service is ridiculous, and they are no help at all. My card is getting declined for quite literally no reason as I have plenty of money, and the phone number is just robots that can't help with anything. So useless and such a waste of my time. I will be switching banks.

Been a Liberty Bank customer for decades. Also a TD Bank customer. Decided to move some money from TD Bank to Liberty Bank, so I had TD Bank wire over a significant deposit to Liberty. Liberty had the nerve to charge a $10 fee for the incoming deposit. Went to the branch I've used for decades. They said they can't reverse fees, but to call the Liberty line. The first Liberty line representative said she'd get back to me on reversing the fee within a couple of days. Weeks later, she never called back. The representative I spoke with today said that fees are in the updated disclosure documents and he will not reverse it. If Liberty Bank is so eager to charge fees that they are now charging for deposits, I will certainly take my deposits and my banking to TD Bank. Liberty Bank is not what it was years ago. I'd advise you to consider the fees very carefully before you choose to bank with Liberty Bank.

They sell your personal information;my wife and I applied for a mortgage for an investment property, and then suddenly I'm inundated with telemarketers trying to sell me loans from their company. I wouldn't be suspicious, but they knew specific information about what I had applied for. Don't use this bank.

Liberty Bank contacted ME (again they contacted ME) that there might be some fraudulent charges on our debit card. We checked and there were totaling about $160. One was for a raffle for cookware another from a gym membership and another for a VPN account. The next day we went to the bank and cancelled the card and got a replacement. They bank could not do anything with the transactions at the time because they were "Pending" We left the next day for vacation and returned a week later and went to the bank to fill out the fraudulent claim paperwork. Approximately 10 days later we received letters saying they were valid transactions. We then called Liberty and they said they would send us the docs involved in them calling valid transactions. Never got them. Called again and basically told them "why would come to bank the next day, cancel my card, get a new one, then the same day we get back from vacation go to the bank to fill out paperwork. For my health? So Liberty Bank is relying on some fraudulent data they got instead of an life long customer. Unfortunately Liberty is the only bank in my town and if there was one called Joe's Bank or Not safe Bank I would pull my accounts in a minute. All the good this bank fid for me over the past 50 years went away when they believe some fraudulent person and not a life long customer. Stay Away if you want to keep your money safe.

Since changing to a "new improved website" their electronic bill pay doesn't work. And no response to email. I chose a local bank hoping for better customer service, but this was not a good choice.

This is the absolute worst banking service I’ve ever experienced. Out-dated processes and rude passive aggressive CS Agent.
7/8- My card was declined at Spa which was extremely embarrassing. Shortly after I paid my bill, I receive a text message asking was it me and my card would be restored in 3-5 minutes.
7/15- I called to update my address as there is no option to do so online in the year of 2022. I sent over the requested documents to SF the same day. I signed via PDF and a wet signature, DL, and updated lease. Today 7/21 my address is STILL not updated. 7/21- My card was declined at RaceTrac and Sherwin Williams. I used my card locally 3 other times today with no problem. I called CS and spoke with SF. She mentioned attempting to use a PIN and it was wrong. I explained, I never use my PINs on any of my accounts. My Liberty account is for random things. She went on being very sarcastic asking did I have a PIN or did I know my PIN. Ma’am, you have to be joking. This is CONSISTENT POOR service. SF mentioned sending me a new card and for me to verify my mailing address. I gave her the address THAT I JUST CHANGED on last with WITH HER. She went on to mention she had another address. I told her I sent all documents over to last week. She ask who did you send it to, “I said you, SF” She goes on to say oh, I think I may have tried to contact you, we cant take those kind of signatures. I explained, I signed digitally and a wet signature. She stated that a new card would be sent out. I will no longer be a member here after the month of July. Unbelievable poor service and 1980 practices. Its freedom here? Yeah, right. It’s 1980 here.

Lots of ridiculous fees, poor customer service, they'll ignore your emails. You're limited on the amount of transactions and it's a hassle from account opening and it gets worse. Stay away from this bank unless you want to flush money down the drain in fees. I will be closing my account asap and going back to PNC, awful banking experience! Even their account opening and funding process is a nightmare. Once your account is open, their true colors come out. Sad excuse for a bank and I wouldn't recommend them to my worse enemy! Wish I could give them zero stars!

My CD allowed me to invest more at the same rate. At the branch they insisted I was mistaken. I had to escalate it for them to honor their contract. I'll be taking all my money out of Liberty Bank.
