The usefulness of the Valero Card is limited, however. The card only works at Valero and its subsidiaries Diamond Shamrock, Beacon and Shamrock, so you can’t use it for everything. It also has a very high interest rate, which means you need to pay the bill in full each month to avoid losing money.

Paid my account too early and was penalized. It makes no sense! It's not worth it. I went ahead and canceled it. The customer service is horrible as well. Choose another gas card!

Tried to pay by debit card and it gave me a confirmation number. When the money never came out of my account, I later found out you can only pay by bank account, so my payment was late. I now have late charges and they have cut off my credit until the account is paid in full. Their payment process and website are terrible.

The app is amazing, but the card services are horrible. The due date was 12/13 and the bill date was 11/17. I had an issue with my bank, and two payments were returned. When notified by my bank, I made a payment on 12/09. Valero suspended my account between the bill and the due date, with no notification of the suspension sent. I called customer service and was hung up on 7 times, trying to understand what happened and to fix it. When I called back each day after being hung up on, they were closed. Once I noticed the payment of the full balance, not the billed balance, was accepted and there was no change to the spending, I called again. I encountered the same issue; they hung up on me, then closed. Finally, I reached someone and was declined to turn on my card and they closed my account. If life happens, they don’t care. Poor service, poor customer care, and poor communication—bad company. Don't spend your money with them.

Does not report to ANY of the three credit bureaus. You're better off using a credit card that will report your positive payments.

Fraudulent billing practices - After a few months of using the Valero card for our truck fleet, I noticed that I was being charged late fees. I was sending in payment 10 days prior to the due date, so it struck me as odd. After calling Valero (WEX) I learned that on two occasions they were holding my payment until it was 1 day late, and then charging late fees. I canceled the account with a $0.00 balance. However, I continued to receive billing statements for monthly fees, and then an additional 32.99% interest for not paying the monthly fees on top of that. Even after calling and confirming the account was canceled, the bills keep coming. Now I am just waiting for a collection agent to call so I can try to deal with it that way.

This company is horrible please don't get a credit card with them. You can't talk to anyone on the phone about you credit card. I paid my bill somehow my bank denied the payment. I got a 200.00 late fee from Valero's when my payment was 58.00. I'm hiring a company to fight this charge. I hate Valero's!

I have been a card customer for over 6 months.. Haven't had any issues with service. But as for using in a Circle K In Kentucky or Indiana NOPE.. The card isn't good at any of them so far. And still haven't seen any mention on my credit that i even have a card with them. I got the card as part of credit building but if it wont report then i will be canceling it.

They do not report ANY positive payments. If you pay late, I'm quite confident that they will report immediately. Too funny.

Thank you for excepting me into the Valero family and I know you approved me because my payments are on time even if my history is a little over 2 years old. I messed up while young and started over with a secure card that eventually approved a unsecure card with a balance increase. This was great to receive as I have to ask others to drive me anywhere due to a seizure disorder & now I can use this card then pay it off each month. My son does a lot of driving as a timber faller and this is great for him to fill up to and helping me get to stores with the extra bonus of helping my credit score get even better. I set my son up not to make credit mistakes as a young man of 20 and he is doing fantastic. So thank you I will be using it for the first time this week and my little town only has one station I can use this at but I'm not complaining. I am curious it says you can use at Circle K which we have one but it isn't a fuel station just a store so can it still be used there anyway? Thank you!!

Valero gave me a chance when others wouldn't. Yes, it has high intrest. But i have 4 or 5 Valeros in my town. So this card serves its purpose. I also travel back to see my children and grandchildren. This is a 7 hour drive and there are plenty of Valeros on my way. This is a absolute plus for me.

I applied for the card. They turned me down. They said my score was 500’s when it was really up in the 600’s. Don’t know where they got that from but I was offended. They could have made up a better reason.
