How to Fill the NMAT registration form:

NMAT by GMAC is a national-level MBA entrance exam for admission to renowned management colleges such as Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Alliance University, SRM University, BML Munjal University, VIT University, ICFAI Business School (IBS) and Ansal University. NMAT by GMAC 2017 was held between October 5 to December 18, 2017. The exam witnessed a significant growth of 7% in registrations for 2017 over 2016. The total registrations closed at 88,454 in 2017 compared to 82,928 last year. Also, in 2017, 40% women test takers highlight the diversity in the candidate pool.

The launch of new test prep material along with the opening of 58 NMAT by GMAC test centers in 44 cities in India and 4 international cities increased the accessibility of the exam to the candidates.A computer-based test, NMAT by GMAC is conducted by Pearson VUE at 35 locations across India, and the aspirants have the right to choose their own exam venue/date/time as per convenience.

Candidates are allowed three retakes (reattempts) of the exam. The best of the three scores is considered for admission. The candidates can choose to select upto 7 schools/ colleges to send their scores for admission for free. Upto 7 institutes/programmes are included in NMAT by GMAC registration fees. NMAT was acquired by GMAC in March 2015 from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). NMAT by GMAC: What the change means for MBA aspirants? There’s no definite eligibility criteria for NMAT by GMAC. “It is the responsibility of the test taker to understand the eligibility requirements of all the universities and schools to which he/she is interested in applying before registering for NMATby GMAC,” states the official.
A few guidelines on eligibility for students has been listed at the official website of NMIMS. It is recommended that aspirants should look for detailed eligibility criteria of the particular university and school of their choice before applying for admission to MBA or other management degree programmes.

However, a few general eligibility criteria needs to be followed by every student before filling up the application form:
1.It is compulsory for every student to have a bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from any recognised university. 2.Candidates must have atleast 50% score in aggregate in their graduation. 3.Candidates with work experience of two or more years after graduation will be favored for admission to all full-time programmes (according to Admission Information Handout of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). 4.Students in their final year of bachelors can also apply for the exam where they shall be offered provisional admission. The final admission will be granted only on clearing graduation exams in first attempt with atleast 50% of marks. The applicant should be able to submit all original documents within the stipulated time period.

NMAT by GMAC’s official website has clearly informed in its eligibility section, “All test takers who complete the Test Registration process pay the test fee within the time specified and follow the published NMATby GMAC terms and conditions may sit for the NMAT exam. It is the responsibility of the test taker to understand the eligibility requirements of all the universities and schools to which he/she is interested in applying before registering for NMATby GMAC. If the test taker registers for the test and then determine that he/she is ineligible for admission to the desired program, no test fee refund will be made. For the eligibility requirements, test takers are advised to check the websites of each university and school where they plan to apply”.

Step 1: Fill in the Application form Candidates willing to appear for NMAT by GMAC must ensure that they fill in the application form before the deadline. The registration fee is Rs 1800 + applicable taxes. Step 2: Download NMAT by GMAC Admit Card
Candidates who register successfully for NMAT by GMAC will be allotted admit cards by the officials. Test-takers can download the admit cards from the official website at www.nmat.org.in. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter their registration number and password. In case a test taker does not receive the admit card, he/she should contact the NMAT helpdesk.
Step 3: Appear for NMAT by GMAC Exam
The dates for NMAT by GMAC 2018 have not been declared yet. Candidates can appear for exam up to a total of three times. The sections included in the NMAT by GMAC paper will be Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. Step 4: Check NMAT by GMAC ResultNMAT by GMAC releases results in various windows, based on test dates and the final result is released in January. Test-takers can view their scorecards as and when the results are declared by the officials. The result of the exam is announced approximately within 4–5 weeks after the test date. To check the scorecard, candidates need to login using their registered email ID. Graduate Management Admission Council, owner and administrator of the NMAT by GMAC exam announced 17% growth in its test registration from last year’s registrations. With the retake, total registrations closed at 82,928 in 2016 compared to 70,950 last year.

NMAT by GMAC is held at 55 test centers spread across 35 locations in India and four locations abroad.Some cities are offering multiple test centers to choose from.

To ensure that such applicants receive required help at test centres, accommodations can be arranged. Requests by test takers with disability for accommodations have to be made at the time of registration for the exam. Candidates found providing false information shall not be allowed to take the exam and will be barred for admission to colleges under NMAT by GMAC.
The official website of NMAT by GMAC mentions that “Any candidate with a disability may not receive the required assistance at the test centre if he/she provides an incomplete certificate, provides the certificate after closure of the registration window, and doesn’t provide the scribe request in the prescribed format. If the accommodation request is denied, the candidate will receive an email notification. Any candidate who provides a false certificate shall be barred from taking the test and must forfeit the test fee”.

NMAT by GMAC 2018 paper will consist of three sections. NMAT by GMAC 2018 test pattern has not yet been declared by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). However, no new changes are expected to be introduced in the exam pattern this year. NMAT by GMAC will continue to be a 120 minute (two hour) exam with three sections: three sections — Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.
Candidates can take NMAT by GMAC up to a total of three times. The best of the three scores will be used for admission.

According to the official notification, “The NMAT by GMAC is computer-delivered and gives each candidate a randomly generated test from a pool of questions, delivered one-at-a-time. The number of questions, difficulty levels, and the time limit for each of the sections is predetermined and, under normal administration conditions, are the same regardless of when and where the test is administered. Candidates have a choice of selecting the order/sequence of the test sections.” Also, NMAT by GMAC test-takers need to review their answers before moving to another section of the exam. Once the candidate ends a particular section, all answers are considered final.

Candidates can choose a date, time and location of exam according to their convenience. Here are few important details about NMAT by GMAC:1.Three Attempts: Candidates can take the test three times in an admission cycle — one exam and two retakes.

2.Choosing the section order: Candidates can choose the order of sections in the test. For instance, one can opt to attempt QA section first followed VA and LR. 3.Reviewing: You can review your answers at the end of each section so you always have the opportunity to revise if you’re not sure of your original response. 4.No negative marking: “The system of no negative marking is in line with global practices,” stated an official GMAC release.

To help create a preparation strategy, here are some tips:
Ask yourself questions like what subject to prepare at what time, how much time to devote to it, when to start revision and so on.

If you are confident about any topic or subject, then do not waste your time practicing odd questions. Try to work upon their shortcuts and mock tests.

The date for release of 2018 application form has not been announced yet. Candidates willing to appear for NMAT by GMAC must note that the application form needs to be filled in carefully and correctly. Authorities will reject the applications that are not filled in completely or accurately.

Candidates can register for the exam online. For the same, the above mentioned links need to be followed:
1.Visit the official website 2.Click on the ‘Register Now’ tab on the official website home page 3.The candidate will be redirected to a page where he/she needs to enter the required details 4.Once the details are filled in, the candidate will receive an authentication email that will be sent to the registered ID 5.Next, candidates need to validate their email ID and complete the online application form wherein details relate to personal, educational and work experience will be required 6.The next step is to choose the schools and MBA colleges under the ‘Programme Details’ section where NMAT scores will be sent. One can select up to seven programmes are included in the registration fee. Post seven programmes, applicants need to pay an additional fee of Rs 200 + applicable taxes for each programme. 7.After successful registration, candidates will receive their unique NMAT Registration Number. Thereafter, one needs to pay the applicable exam fee via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net banking and Demand Draft. This year, GMAC has made special provision for test takers with disabilities. If requested, GMAC will help with necessary accommodation at a test centre.

“Test takers who wish to request for special assistance must fill the details in the online application while registering. The test takers must scan their Disability Certificate and upload to the registration application in order to be approved for necessary accommodation. Each application will be reviewed on a case-to-case basis. Pearson VUE will contact the candidate to schedule his/her test at their preferred test centre, date and time with the approved accommodation and will ensure proper assistance is provided to them,” said GMAC.

The date for release of 2018 admit cards has not been announced yet. Candidates appearing for NMAT by GMAC will get access to the admit card at least a week before the date of exam. Candidates can download their NMAT by GMAC 2018 admit cards online from www.nmat.org.in, once available.
“Test takers will receive an e-mail informing them about payment receipt and successful registration. Test taker can download / print payment receipt and Admit card from the registration log-in. In case a test taker has not received the same, he/she should contact the NMAT helpdesk (09213027791 / 09213027792). The test taker will receive another e-mail from Pearson VUE on the e-mail id mentioned in the registration form mentioning a unique username and password which will enable him/her to schedule the test in the Pearson VUE website,” informs the official NMAT by

On the test day, NMAT by GMAC aspirants need to arrive at the centre 45 minutes before the test appointment. They need to carry their admit cards along with a confirmation email printout and valid identity proof (Passport, PAN Card, Voter’s ID Card, UID/Aadhaar Card, Driving license). NMAT by GMAC 2018 Admit Card will contain various details such as registration specifics and photograph. In order to take NMAT by GMAC, one is required to produce the Admit Card along with other necessary documents on the day of the test. Candidates will be able to print their admit cards for NMAT by GMAC with photograph after the payment is accepted by GMAC. Please note, candidates will need to get their admit cards signed by the test administrator at the designated place on the day of the test. Also, while retaking (and rescheduling) NMAT exam, one needs to retain the original Admit Card (that one carried for the first / previous attempt), signed and stamped by the test administrator. “You will be required to produce the ‘same’ Admit Card and will have to get it signed and stamped at the test centre where you appear, for you to retake the exam,” states the official website.

“Schools may ask you to present a signed Admit Card to verify that you have completed NMAT by GMAC application process. Please check that your printed photograph on your Admit Card is clearly visible. If the photo is blank or not clearly visible, contact the help desk on nmat.org.in or email nmatsupport@gmac.com to update the photo. You will not be allowed to test if the test administrator is unable to match your photo. Please remember to carry this Admit Card to the testing centre on the day of your scheduled exam. If you fail to do so, you will not be allowed to test. In addition to this Admit Card, you will be required to present other identification documents (original and non-expired) as specified on nmat.org.in to be allowed to test. Make sure that the test administrator signs the Admit Card at the designated place. Please retain the signed Admit Card until your school admission process is complete,” further added the website.
