Cannot access our funds due to ongoing delays

Financial advisor has cashed in bonds, but Standard Life seem incapable of uploading new bank details for a Trust bank account so the funds can be paid. Failed to respond to a complaint from the financial advisor, so I called as owner of the account and was totally misdirected. Still no sign of funds and an anticipated house move might have to be aborted, currently in the conveyancing process. Heartbreaking and unnecessary due to constant delays and incompetence.

Passive aggressive customer service team

I spoke to two different Standard Life team members to request some simple pension information and both were really unnecessarily rude and unhelpful. I don't typically leave reviews but I was quite shocked by how I was spoken to and feel it necessary to flag this.

Lies, incompetence, avoid

1. IT TAKES OVER AN HOUR TO GET ANSWERED ON THE PHONE.

2. STANDARD LIFE STATES IT WILL RESPOND WITHIN 1 DAY TO MESSAGES. IT DOESN'T. IT IS A LIE.

3. STANDARD LIFE IGNORES HMRC TAX CODING AND FORCES ITS CLIENTS TO USE P55 TO CLAIM BACK TAX. HMRC SAYS IT IS INVESTIGATING THIS PRACTICE WHICH IT SAYS "SHOULD NOT HAPPEN".

Everything was so easy to transfer my…

Everything was so easy to transfer my other 4 pensions into my Standard Life pension. Communication was clear, and helpful. I just gave them the company names and policy numbers and they sorted everything for me!

Effortlessly transferred from people's pension. Not a large sum but looks better when it's all together. Might manage it myself now though the standard life app.

Was expecting a call back within 20…

Was expecting a call back within 20 mins. Had a missed call a couple of hours later, but they didn't re-try and doesnt seem to be a way of calling back to pick up the existing query. Dissapointing service.

All standard life polices are losing…

All standard life polices are losing money badly.
They always say it is the customers choice what they invest into but when all Standard life policies are losing that statement is wrong. I personaly think this company is going bust.
I am closing my account and moving my money to (not permitted by trust pilot to give the name of the company doing well I suspect its trust pilot doing the usual trying to protect standard life as its not a fair site to give honest reviews or give the name of pensions who are making money.
Move your now before this company ruin your retirement.

Transfer of two old pensions

I transferred two old pensions into my Standard Life pension and the process was extremely efficient and straight forward. I was advised it would take around 2-4 weeks but the whole thing was completed within 7 working days. Very impressive!

This is the worst company I have ever…

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with over two years trying to get money from the account I have with them to put in another account! Dirty handed tactics to hold onto MY money!!! Stay away from this company DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.

Pension Transfer Service

I used Standard Life’s pension transfer service to combine multiple pensions with different companies. All I had to do was give them the company name, the account number and the estimated amount in my pensions, and they took care of the rest. So easy and completely stress free. Now my whole pension pot is in one place and I can easily see how much is saved, top up, and manage my pension online.

Easy to set up and manage a personal pension

I set up a new personal pension and it was really easy to apply. It took about a month for bank checks etc to be done, but then it was established and I was able to operate the pension online or via an app. I can change payments easily, and track the progress of my pension fund. I can't comment on the fund performance yet, as I've only just set it up.

Straightforward

Recently retired and wanted to combine my last company pension with my previous Standard Life pension. Very simple and all sorted within a few weeks. Now I can work how to start taking my payments.

Worst customer service in existence

Why is there no zero on the ratings? This has to be the absolute worst customer service in existence. Their internal messaging portal doesn't work properly either. I speak as an expert in IT solutions for this type of company.
Just avoid this company at all costs. They will cost you money and time.

A poor service

A poor service, a simple pension transfer took over two months and standard life were slightly obstructive in which ID documents they would accept. They are good at managing money, but their administrative service is poor i'm afraid.
