Let me say my hats off to the outstanding customer service I received yesterday when I opened an account at the Socorro branch. All were very kind and willing to help me. They should pass on their admirable customer service to the branch in Ysleta. Thank you all so much, and God bless you all.

Terribly inefficient people at the top and a few at the bottom, untrained, and customer have to deal with abundant misinformation; money market rates increase not effective until the end of the month, no explanation why, no callback, nothing but misinformed, disinterested people working here.

They are holding my money and I need to use it. I deposited a check from my previous bank over to GECU and now they are holding it. First, they said it would be available and cleared on November 2nd, then it was November 14th, then the 18th, and they recently said the 12th. The money is there, but they said I can't use it until the check clears. What I don't understand is how they keep giving me different days of availability. That's not right. They even closed my checking account and took the $5,225 available to me away. I just want to get my money out and go to another bank. I need my funds released!

GECU always makes my account go negative, even if I don't have the money in my account. They allow the charges to go through, and my account goes negative. Then they change their return fees, just ripping off their customers' money. This is not acceptable at all.

I recently was shopping for a financial institution that offered more value for money. GECU was a big mistake! After I applied online, I received a message that my application was under review. I found a much more beneficial institution, and my account was set up seamlessly. I cancelled my application with GECU, and to my shock, they performed a hard inquiry on my credit AFTER I cancelled my application! I didn’t apply for a loan. This is not standard procedure anywhere. Most use ChexSystems and perform soft inquiries. I called them out on this, and they refused to remove the inquiry. My suggestion? Go elsewhere. Perhaps it’s just a Texas style of doing business.

On the 3rd of February I called to see if there was a problem generating the January statements. I was advised they would be generated some time next week because the 31st fell on a Wednesday. WHAT???? No other banking institution sends out monthly statements when they feel like getting around to it. This is their policy. The tellers are nice, but I don't like talking to a video screen. This is the last straw. As big of a pain as it is, I'm moving my business to a real banking institution - perhaps Navy Federal! C'ya!

In the past few years, GECU has become terrible. I have been with GECU for over three decades, and they have completely deteriorated. This encompasses everything from banking to customer service. There are far better options available. My comments stem from extremely poor customer service to banking errors. I would definitely choose another option. It's time for a change.

Old ATM technology, poorly made debit cards that are rarely readable and the worst customer service in the business. I would only recommend GECU for the most basic of banking needs.

This has been the most horrible experience. I have good credit, the level of professionalism from this bank was terrible. It took over a month from the time I put in my application to the time it was funded to the party I purchased from. I had to make multiple calls and follow up with the process, and they would only give me one thing at a time that was needed to finalize the loan, once they had everything to complete the process it still took them a week to send out the funding from the back to the seller. No matter your credit, do not do business with this bank.

This younger generation is LAZY and are clueless on customer service. Adrian, manager at Viscount location apologized and sent me to Vista Del Sol location with Esmeralda because he couldn't take $33 in coins towards a loan payment. There was not one soul in line waiting. ALL employees were standing around chatting. Mind you, this is one of the, if not the largest location. I had to spend my time and gas to drive to a different location. It was $33!!! Don't waste your time with this credit union. I'm sticking to First Light Credit Union. They make their members feel appreciated!

This is the worst bank in the World tomm morning I am calling and closing all my accounts personal business and saving my card is declining and when I Call after hours customer service they say they can do nothing until I call the local branch at 9am I need gas and I am 346 miles away from home so now I have to sleep in my car until tomm morning 2023 worst bank in America never go with local banks stuck with the big ones Navy Federal banks like this . 0 stars for you Gecu I will never recommend and going on every platform to not recommend your bank

My car loan with my ex wife was with GECU. It started out great until my separation with my wife where she took the car and sold it after the divorce. The car dealership and GECU had a disagreement for over a month plus where GECU blamed us for not paying the loan when the car was already sold. The dealership sent the check multiple times but GECU denied the check multiple times pass the 30 day mark. This as you can imagine hit my credit score dropping it 33 points. I disputed the score because it was between the dealer and GECU banking. GECU then again lied and the dispute on my credit score didn’t go through. Now I have a lower score with a missed payment due to GECU’s issue with how a payoff check was wrote. I recommend not using this bank nor will I ever use this bank again for personal loans or even banking as they were not willing to work with and then lied to me and the disputing office about what happened.

Worst Experience Ever!! These people kept changing their minds on what they needed from us to close on the home. We had to get 2 home inspections because of all the delays (which they should have paid for). They were unbelievably unorganized and one person didn't know what the other had agreed on or said to us. They did not appear to know their business very well and several realtors I spoke to said they would have never recommended GECU for mortgages to us......I know why now.

Gecu is one of the most horrible banks. you have to be a member to be able to use their services. They do not work with you on anything.

I have been a member of GECU for 58 years. My sister worked as a teller there and got me enrolled as a member when I was just 16 years old. I am now 74. Employees receive the best training. They are professionals. They greet you with a smile, and handle transactions promptly
and explain any issues thoroughly. They make you feel like a valued member. They are the best !!!
