​WEOKIE FCU appoints new president

WEOKIE Federal Credit Union in Oklahoma City, announced the appointment of Jeff Carpenter as its next president and CEO. Carpenter will replace Brent Taylor, who is retiring in early 2021 following more than 30 years of service with the last 13 years as president and CEO. During Taylor’s tenure as president, the credit union more than doubled in assets to $1.2 billion, expanded into new markets, and added new products and services, all while developing a purpose-driven organization focused on serving members as their trusted financial advisor.

“Brent has been an insightful leader who has helped guide WEOKIE to elite credit union status,” said WEOKIE Chair Warren Pybas. “He and the credit union team have elevated WEOKIE to be an impactful business in our community.”

Pybas expressed his excitement about the board’s selection of Carpenter as WEOKIE’s next president. “I have full confidence in his abilities. Bright days are ahead for the credit union.”

Carpenter will join WEOKIE early next year, bringing with him more than 33 years of experience in the credit union movement including executive positions with the Ohio and Oklahoma Credit Union Leagues, U.S. Central Credit Union, Credit Union National Association, American Association of Credit Union Leagues, and Wright-Patt Credit Union. He is currently president and CEO of CME Federal Credit Union in Columbus, Ohio, a position he has held since 2016. Carpenter began his life-long credit union career as founding chairman and president of the First Miami University Student & Alumni FCU.
