Cirro Energy Bill

Understanding Your Cirro Energy Bill

1. Service Address

The physical address being serviced by the electricity meter.

2. Outage and Emergency Contact Phone Number

The phone number of the TDU company that owns the meter and the area’s power lines.

3. ESI ID

The ID number of the meter. Every electricity meter has a unique ESI ID. Think of it as the meter’s social security number.

4. Electric Usage Detail

The important information here is the kWh Usage. This number will be used to calculate your Energy Charge and the TDU Delivery Charges.

5. Plan Name

The Cirro electricity plan you are currently using. This determines your Energy Charge.

6. Cirro Energy Charge

This is where you find your current electricity rate to use when shopping for a new electricity plan. In this case, the electricity rate being charged by Cirro is “@ $0.07” (7 cents) per kWh.

7. TDU Pass-Thru Delivery Charge

This is the total charges being charged by your TDU company. The TDU owns and operates your electricity meter, as well as the power lines in your area. This is the amount the TDU charges you to deliver the electricity to you. These are “pass-thru” charges, and would be the same even if you were with an electricity provider other than Cirro.

8. Average price per kWh (Including TDU Pass-Thru Charges)

This is your total cost per kWh, excluding taxes. This includes the Cirro Energy Charge and the TDU Pass-Thru Delivery Charge.

If you live in a Power to Choose area of Texas, you have to the option to choose Cirro as your electricity provider.  Compare Cirro electricity rates with TXU and the other Texas light companies to see who is offering the cheapest electricity rates in your city.  Switching providers in easy.  You can either sign up for Cirro electricity online or over the phone.

Reliability of Cirro Service

The reliability of service is exactly the same for all Texas electricity providers.  That is because Cirro or whatever company you choose as your electric provider is not the party responsible for actually delivering electricity to your home and responding to outages.  This responsibility falls on the regional utilities called TDUs (Transmission Distribution Utility).  Any retail electric provider is going to have the same TDU responsible for maintaining the power lines.  This is one of the most misunderstood aspects of the Texas electricity market and the one that keeps many people from shopping for better rates.  It doesn’t matter if you are with Cirro, or Reliant or anyone else, if your power goes out in Dallas you call Oncor.  If your power goes out in Houston you call Centerpoint.
