What do you like best about Paycom?

My employees love the platform for its ease of use, and our utilization is near perfect. The automations save my team and my leaders' time, allowing them to focus on the business and not be stuck in the business. Paycom is constantly focused on improving the product and providing additional value for the investment, unlike others who just let their outdated software stagnate. With Paycom, they continuously add new features that easily integrate into our business. We get amazing support. What do you dislike about Paycom?

What do you like best about Paycom?

The employee owning their data is a great perk as well as having everything we need in one system. This allows employees to only focus on learning one external system. This is a reliable system that allows for daily use, and it is easy to navigate within the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

There are some features that feel cluttered or notifications that will forever be permanent if they are applied to terminated employees, but it does not make sense to adjust once their termination is complete. Ex. "missing ESS access", it would not make sense to enable terminated employees' ESS. A bypass option would be helpful. Also more reporting data for checklists would be helpful. What do you like best about Paycom?

We have been through multiple payroll systems with upgrades to each with unfavorable outcomes. However, when moving to Paycom with ease of moving our 15,000 previous and current employees we have found Paycom to be easy to use and having our employees use the app to answer questions, see their paychecks, and receive W2s is a god send. The saving in postage along is tremendous. We are very happy with all upgrades to the system which have made use of the payroll system easier and easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Paycom?

I really appreciate that everything is in one system—payroll, timekeeping, benefits, and HR tasks are all connected. The employee self-service is a huge time-saver, and tools like Beti make payroll more accurate and efficient. It’s user-friendly, keeps us compliant, and reduces a lot of manual work. What do you dislike about Paycom?

Some features can be a bit rigid or overly complex at first, and making changes often requires support. It would also be great if reports like drug screens and MVRs automatically flowed into the employee’s profile, instead of needing to be manually uploaded. What do you like best about Paycom?

The things I like most about Paycom are that it is a solid software program that rarely glitches compared with other HR platforms. I also like that it is easy to navigate once you learn where everything is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

A few things that I dislike about Paycom are that sometimes the features are not very intuitive to learn without having to go and read through the 1000-page manual (ig: setting up documents and document types, performance management tools, etc). I also get annoyed with having to constantly go through the 2-party authentication process when making any employee changes. It seems like Paycom should have a built-in feature to recognize the administrator's main computer and not require constant reauthentication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Paycom?

The platform has a wide range of functionality and tools to support HR and payroll processes.

We recently met with our new account representative and I have already communicated our past concerns. It was a productive conversation and we’re hopeful for improved support moving forward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

Dislikes:

We ran into a major issue with accruals and rule settings. Our previous Customer Service Representative misinformed us and made changes that impacted all employees' accrual balances. The support team was unable to properly identify the issue or offer corrective guidance, and instead gave further inaccurate information. We had to investigate and troubleshoot the issue ourselves to get things back on track.

Paycom failed to update the platform with the revised 2025 W9 form. Despite the form being released, no system update was made. When we contacted support, we were instructed to make manual edits, but the solution did not work. We ultimately needed intervention from their back end team to resolve the issue.

It is frustrating that a payroll company did not implement IRS form changes on day one, and even more concerning that there was no reliable or compliant way for clients to update the form themselves. The manual form editor locked all fields to the employee, with no option to reassign required fields to the employer side.

These issues raise concerns about the system's readiness for compliance-related updates and the overall quality of support, especially for critical functions like tax documentation and time off accruals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Paycom is a great system"
What do you like best about Paycom?

We have a dedicated Customer Service Representative who is very helpful and knowledgeable and can usually get any issue fixed quickly and if not will find out an answer and get back to us promptly. If there is not a solution at the time then he will submit over to programming to have it reviewed for future updates. We have our client representative who is also available to us and comes to our facility periodically and when needed to do best practice training with us to assist us with optimizing use of the system and these are super helpful and have helped us to find easier ways to do things in the system or he will go over new updates to the system and show us how to use those. We have to pay extra for our previous HRIS to do these. Previous implementation for our past HRIS systems was very tedious and stressful so we were a little worried about it with Paycom but we were having too many issues with the previous system that we went ahead and made the move to Paycom. We were absolutely floored at how simple and easy Paycom made our implementation, the implementation contact was fantastic and the stress was so minimal. Paycom is user friendly and if there are anything that is not working well we just call or email our rep and he usually has the issue resolved pretty quickly. We were able to interface with our nursing staffing program and that has worked very well. Our staff for the most part like Paycom and most of their issues turn out to be user issues so HR is able to walk them through the correct process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

We are still unable to utilize the evaluation system since not designed to accommodate how we do our evaluations which is 90 days from hire and then every year after but then that begins over when someone moves into another position. Paycom has tried to assist us with some work arounds but none have worked so we are still trying to figure this out and hopefully future updates will allow us to use it. For now we are back using paper evaluation forms but its not that much of an issue for now. Our rep has all the information as to what we need the system to do and has been working to find us a work around for this. Other than that, we are happy with the system. Paycom makes processes more efficient allowing my small HR team to meet the demands of our growing company quickly and easily. The single database system means tasks are streamlined and quick! "As good as your Paycom point of contact is."
What do you like best about Paycom?

Depends.. :)

We have account with Paycom for two of our entities. One thing that is very good is processing of the usual payroll. But when cases out of ordinary appear, this is where it gets though and complicated.

We also currently have a very good point of contact in Paycom, Michael Schrameck. Our previous points of contact weren't as good, responsive or knowledgeable which impacted our overall experience with Paycom.

I don't use Paycom very often, only when needed, every two weeks and considering I am not a frequent user and have other payroll systems for other countries, I rely on expertise of the point of contact, when something complex arises. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

Sometimes it is hard for me to find how to do more complex things.

Paycom is constantly working to update their product to keep it on the cutting edge and the work on keeping the information secure. They have excellent trainings and instruction manuals on how to use their products. Plus, when I call in, the staff are always friendly, nice, and knowledgeable.!
