Managing your password

You can easily change your Zoom password at any time if you know your existing password. If you have forgotten your password, learn how to reset it.

This article covers:

Prerequisites for changing your Zoom password

How to change your password

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Profile.
  3. Under Sign In, to the right of Sign-In Password, click Edit.
  4. Enter your Old Password.
  5. Enter your New Password, then enter it a second time under Confirm Password to confirm.
Note: Ensure that your password meets the requirements.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Note: If you do not have the option to change your password on your Profile page, you may have previously signed in with Google, Apple, or Facebook.

How to add a password login to Google, Apple, or Facebook login

Unless restricted by your account owner, you can easily add an email and password login for the same account.

To add a password login to your Google, Apple, or Facebook login:

  1. Sign out of your existing Zoom account.
  2. Go to the Zoom sign up page.
  3. Enter your date of birth for verification.
  4. Enter the email address that matches your Google, Apple, Single Sign On (SSO), or Facebook login.
  5. Click Sign Up.
You will receive an email with sign up instructions; click Activate Account.
  6. Enter your desired password twice.
Note: Ensure that your password meets the requirements.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. (Optional) Enter in email addresses of contacts to invite or click Skip this Step.
  9. Click Go to My Account.
  10. This will take you to your Profile page of the existing Zoom account. By Linked Accounts, it should now display your Google, Apple, Facebook, and/or SSO accounts, indicating that you can log in with the same email address and password.

Zoom password requirements

For security purposes, Zoom has a few requirements that your password must meet. These apply when setting your initial password and when resetting your password.

Note: These requirements only apply when using your email address and Zoom password to sign in to Zoom. If you sign in with Google, Apple, Facebook, or SSO, your password must meet their requirements.

How to troubleshoot password issues

Reset your password

If you sign in with your email address and password, you can reset your password at Zoom's Forgot your password? page. For more information, see Resetting your Zoom password.

Receiving a "This Zoom Account Does Not Exist" error message

If you receive a message that states "This Zoom account does not exist", you may have set up an account with a Google, Apple, or Facebook login. Try logging in with one of those platforms and reset your password with them if necessary.

You can also set up a secondary login to your Zoom account with the same email address by adding a password login.
