Rubbish customer service. May as well not have one.

Don’t bother reaching out to them or just don’t think about booking with Agoda at all. The customer service team just copies and pastes their replies from FAQ or a standard template. It’s no different from using a chatbot. You’ll also be handed over to several agents after each reply and all the replies will be similar without further clarification even if you ask for it. There’s no dedicated agent to resolve your issue from start till the end. I’ll be deleting my account. Good riddance.

Not what it seems

Made an accommodation booking for Tauranga NZ. Payment showed as AUD. When I went through payment details it said room no longer available, choose another room. I went to choose another room and the same room I tried to book before said 2 rooms available. I booked a deluxe studio. When confirmation came through to my email charge showed in CNY currency?????
I cancelled the booking as I didn't feel comfortable with the transaction. I tried to contact Agoda to make them aware of my concern and each time I hit a link of contact it takes me to the booking site. I am using the AGODA APP. Agoda has got too difficult for me and don't feel comfortable using it as I don't know if it's a scam or not.

Agoda cancelled my booking and then wanted double to rebook

I made a booking for a nice hotel in Baecelona months in advance. I uploaded a copy of my passport and credit card to pass their verification process. 5-days before my trip I got an email to say that my booking had been cancelled and that "I" had cancelled it. When I contacted Agoda they said that the booking had been cancelled and there was nothing they could do. They told me that I could rebook the same hotel at double the price.

Do yourself a favour and either book direct or use another booking platform.

Agoda is a real scam company they…

Agoda is a real scam company they charge your credit card even without booking. There is no phone to contact them, and if you contact them, you pay for the long distance call in Philippine. Refund is non existent don’t ever deal with them.
They took money from my account without my permission.

When I contacted their customer support, they repeatedly ignored direct questions and requests (including asking for a copy of the communication thread). They also sent me conflicting information. Eventually I realised it was pointless trying to resolve it with them directly and so decided to waste no more time and raise a dispute externally.

Duped out of my money

I paid extra to be able to cancel a booking with Agoda. A day before my flight, easyjet cancelled the flight because of an air traffic control strike. I couldn't cancel without a fee and the fee was the total cost of the 3 nights booked even though it said that there was a partial charge, it was in fact, the whole amount, some 400 euros.
I had the option of losing all the money or paying a little extra to book two nights at the same place later on. I was then informed that this decision was irrevocable and non refundable.
I talked to the hotel and they were nice enough, I wish I had booked directly with them. I will never use this service again and I spend a lot of my time telling anyone I know to avoid them. It is impossible to contact them in person.

Mainland service at Hong Kong pricing

An extremely disappointing stay. Was here on business no wardrobe all clothes had to hang from a wall rail with 4 hangers. No space to organise luggage, so storage dpace is extremely limited. Water was stopped and you had to pay for it from a vendor machine in the car park. Clean but extremely small rooms. Cannot order you a taxi, no concierge. All TV programs are in Chinese.

False information

I made a booking that said it would not charge my card yet and could be cancelled for free for several days. The second i submitted it, they charged my credit card. I wrote them over and over for 10 days and they said thy had contacted the hotel and they had refused to cancel and return the money. It was clearly a lie. I will never book anything with these crooks again.

Agoda customer service is Useless

Agoda customer service is rubbish. They are not going to do anything about it. When you speak to them, they so super polite and understanding, it seems like the issue will be resolved but then you get an email totally different to the conversation you've had.
I made many calls before my travel and even when I was on holiday. I'm even back and I don't even have a follow-up or refund on the extra payment.
I made a hotel booking and the payment wouldn't go through. when it did it was £50 more then what I was booking for same room, days etc
Its useless. They keep asking for irrelevant documents when they have all the technical data. I have explained what happened so many times. I'd rather pay more then use Agoda again.

I cant trust agoda explanation

I booked a hotel with “risk free cancellation” before 13th June 24. When i asked customer service if i chose “pay now”, what happens if I need to cancel because of any unforeseen situation. They told me i would be charged 1 night. She told me i can cancel before 28/4/24 when i booked the accommodation on 28/4/24.
When I asked them why the amount after I entered my credit card and the amount send to my account after confirmation of my booking are different. They told me because of the conversion from local currency (Kw) to US $ to AUD. I told her I can’t believe only a few seconds the conversion between three currencies could make AUD 70 difference.
I cant trust agoda staff and i think it s not worthwhile booking an accommodation with them.

Booking made through Agoda not worthy of trust

Booking made through Agoda, later confirmed by hotel as received through Expedia instead. Room type was lower than confirmed by Agoda and one room night was not confirmed by the hotel; furthermore, hotel confirmed that room changes for every night was required.

Customer care is sketchy.

Customer care is sketchy.
On two occasions, after telling me they would call a hotel to verify that the manager had approved a change, they rejected the change.
I called the hotel on both occasions and no call had been received from Agoda.

Backing out from cashback commitment

Made a booking on Agoda at a hotel in Chennai,India. The terms clearly stated in the email from Agoda included a cashback offer, with the amount payable 60 days after checkout from the hotel. Not having heard anything, I wrote to Agoda, but have been getting the run-around for the last two weeks with Agoda writing blatant falsehoods and refusing to pay out the cashback amount despite my having sent them a copy of their email specifying the Booking ID and the amount of the cashback.
I have never experienced such unscrupulous behavior from other online agencies like Booking.com and others.
Avoid Agoda at all costs.

I had booked a place and paid upfront…

I had booked a place and paid upfront but decided it it wasn't suitable, I cancelled and refund was in my account within 3 days. Booked again and absolutely no issues on arrival at the imperial hotel blackpool we actually had our room upgraded. Great wee site and excellent value for money compared to others.

Horrible company ever experienced

Horrible company ever experienced. Schedule may change and that's why travel agency exists. To keep saying it's not cancellable, only with the reason that there was a clause which was hardly seen at the time of booking, is very ridiculous. Do they have any business mind? Ridiculous and horrible company I will never deal with again.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. They charged me for a reservation that was canceled properly ahead of time. They lie to you on the phone and make up excuses for not refunding you. Buyer beware!! Do NOT use them.

Agoda does not help when you have an issue with a booking

I book with sites like Agoda to add some protection from bad stays. I'm currently in a situation where I'm in a room that has a serious noise issue. Agoda did nothing but make me try to solve the issue.

After 4 days of messages from Agoda saying we are working on it I'm done with Agoda. There is zero reason to book with them since they provide no support or safety of bad bookings what so ever.

Extremely poor service, cannot engage with a person to complain.

I booked a hotel in Ludlow though Priceline for a certain date but when I had paid it turned out that the date was completely different. I then tried to contact Priceline but the passed me in to Agoda. There is no way to talk to a person in Agoda, the robot on the help facility does not give one the option to discuss this particular sort of problem. I'm am fed up of being passed from pillar to post. I have used Agoda in the past - it is fine if you don't encounter a problem that is not on their list but there is no help available if you do. Agoda/Priceline is happy to take your money but not engage directly with you, the customer, should you need to chat to a real person.

Very unhappy with both companies.

Terrible customer service

Don't use agoda use booking.com. poor customer service didn't refund a 7 day hotel stay because I didn't check in because it was a room for one hour a day and hotel reception said they will tell agoda to return the money. The discounted rooms on agoda just seem to be normal prices once you check in.
