Green chef meal kits are the best!

We love the Green chef meal kits! We have loved 95 percent of the meals we have ordered. They are all delicious and have completely individual flavors unlike some meal kits I’ve ordered from other vendors in the past. We order gluten free exclusively for my child’s gluten allergy. The prices are very reasonable too considering the meals taste like they are from a good restaurant or a good home cook.

Great recipes, small portions - not worth it

The recipe selection is great. Very flavorful and creative meals. We wanted to stay but for the money paid no way.

The portion sizes are ridiculously small. My wife and I are active, thin people. It’s not like we’re gluttons expecting to gorge ourselves.

We actually weighed the provided meats and vegetables before and after cooking several times. More often than not they didn’t even constitute the USDA suggested serving. Soups were the exception.

The worst! :(

We have been using them for 10 weeks now. Almost no week has come where they missed ingredients, some items have perished upon arrival, or delivery was delayed by a day or totally missed. Worst among these companies and we have used many like Blue Apron, etc.

Great way to start eating better

I've been using Green Chef for 2 months. It has really helped me to eat healthier. I don't consider myself one who enjoys cooking so I was a little leary of the concept. I'm happy to say that it's really easy! I purchased a rice cooker and a few other utensils to make prep easier. It takes me about 30-40 mins from start to plated.

The only negative, for me, is that occasionally something gets left out of the bag, ie a scallion. Unfortunately to err is human. One time they accidentally sent me 2 of the same meals, the same week. They provided a $10 credit immediately, which was nice, but I feel they could have done better here.

I’m a very disappointed long time customer of Green Chef

I’m a long time customer of Green Chef, who has previously mostly been happy. Order did not arrive last Friday and when I called at the end of the day to inquire I was told it was still out for delivery and was just delayed. Instead, a bag of wet rotten garbage arrived the following Thursday. The food was jumbled in a garbage bag and put in a new box, which is now my smelly problem to deal with. Really?? Who delivers a leaking box of something that smelled liked the contents died? Customer service offered a refund (which was actually just a credit on the next delivery) after 3 calls, + $18.00 for the inconvenience and extra garbage bag fee. This is the 2nd occurrence of this type. We purchase this meal delivery service for convenience, to ensure healthy portions and to eliminate food waste. Big fail across the board and customer service was “meh”. A full refund is a good starting place (and not a credit on future boxes), but $18.00 is NOT the way to retain me as a customer. I was planning on a Green Chef meal last Friday (nope), planning on doing something other than meal planning and grocery shopping on Saturday (nope), not delighted to take more time to deal with the rotten leaking food on my porch and multiple calls to customer service. I would be embarrassed to recommend Green Chef to a friend at this point.

I absolutely love the food

I absolutely love the food. Everything is fresh, organic, and clean Whenever I have had an issue, customer service has been fantastic. Having the meal service helps us to stay accountable to eating clean.

THEE BEST food service out there!

We love green chef! We started with green chef years ago and then rotated thru other services over the past decade.

I'm so glad we're back. Green chef is the best food service we've tried. The food is delicious and healthy, the variety is great, the recipes are simple, the app is easy to use, pausing when you on vacation or out of town is a breeze, the delivery is timely, the cost is now competitive and they communicate well.

Bulls#% rewards. If you provide a rewards system, you need to make it easy to use and intuitive. A conversation w/ your customer service later, I still don't have access to whatever you say I've earned.

I love the quality and taste of the…

I love the quality and taste of the food and that it's mostly organic. On some days, I enjoy the prep work and don't mind the clean up after, however, there are days that I get home later from work, I'm tired and hungry and really want something quick and easy with less clean up, yet also still healthy. I also wish that I could order less. I often have much more than a single person living alone can possibly eat in a week. Another suggestion/question... there are frozen gel packs that are great to feed plants. Are the gel packs that you use safe for this purpose?

Not as pleased this year…

The recipes were all very similar yet different. Some of them I just got completely grossed out about the flavors that were chosen to mix together. Sometimes there was too much salt sometimes it was too much Parmesan cheese and they don’t seem as healthy as they used to be.

It's ok

The things I dislike:
Customer service is unavailable when I'm making dinner and running into problems or need to report something.
Can't download the recipe cards from the app - which is really inconvenient when the card is missing from the box.
Plastic wrapping garlic cloves seems very unnecessary. In general a lot of plastic, although it's nice that the meals are in a paper bag.
Directions seem written to use as many dishes a should possibly be needed - little effort to conserve on that front.
Difficult to report damaged or bad items, although it is nice that it doesn't happen very often, much less than other meal kits I've used.

Things I like:
Tons of options to choose from weekly.
Meals usually turn out better than I expect, although I can't say I've had one yet that I've enjoyed enough to eat twice.

I love Green Chef because it takes the decision making off me. There is no food waste, and no need to shop for ingredients. They offer a great variety of delicious vegan recipes. I have loved every single one.

Food is absolutely delicious, best meal service. We have tried so far, and we have tried multiple. Easy to make, and tons of options. Only small complaint would be that it is a bit pricier than the other options.

The meals were good

The meals were good, but 2 of the 3 meals were missing ingredients. I love that there are several gluten free options!
Update: The Green Chef team reached out to me and applied a nice credit to my account for the inconvenience of missing ingredients and apologized several times and that the packaging dept. is aware.
