If you are thinking about using Banner Bank for business services, DON'T. I have been putting up with this inadequate bank for far too long. They change their terms constantly, always to the detriment of their customers. This weekend is the final incident that pushed me over the edge.
They charged a service charge for a minimal average balance, neglecting years of balances that exceeded their minimums. Following this, I deposited a client's check online on Friday and it has yet to be approved as of Sunday night. This has resulted in an overdraft.
This company doesn't care about their customers. They close at central time on Friday and are completely unavailable until Monday. If you have a problem over the weekend, you're out of luck. If you are on the West coast, your business banking has to be done by Friday at 3 pm.
Banner Bank is terrible. Don't do business with this inadequate company.

Banner Bank has not complied with executor requests for information. Very suspicious activity on my parents' accounts. Banner Bank manager in North Bend, OR, has obstructed, delayed, and denied these records to the executor of their probate. Multiple requests now possibly involve lawyer involvement. Stay tuned for the story in the local paper.

Often we write a review only when we are unhappy; however, we should also let folks know when we are happy, pleased, and satisfied. Banner Bank on 3rd Street in Spokane is a small branch that does an awesome job. They get to know you quickly, are very friendly, and meet all of our banking needs. The manager there is the BEST. How could you ask for anything more? Thank you, Banner Bank. Jim G.

This card had a great balance transfer promotional rate and terms. It's nice to be able to go inside a local branch and ask questions. Decent rewards overall. The in-person customer service is what sets this card apart from others for me.

I am a realtor and have experienced the worst service via Banner Bank. They received underwriting requests to correct a cloud on the title of a home their clients were buying, and they (along with the listing broker for that home) did nothing until the day before closing. They are now scrambling to change the loan type and are asking for extensions with undetermined time frames, causing three different parties to be unable to close on a contingent offer. This is totally unacceptable and is likely to disrupt all three transactions. I have zero faith in their lending abilities.

Banks do not fix "clouds" on titles. That is the responsibility of a title company. I worked as an escrow officer for ten years and seems that you are a typical realtor that cares only about their check and does absolutely nothing to provide timely supporting documents.

Have been a customer for many years. I needed to make a deposit. As an old guy that suffers with old guy ailments, I needed to empty my bladder (I originally used the medical term as I am a nurse but banner bank would not let me post this as they concider the term "profane") with some urgency. I told the teller that I needed to make a deposit, but first I needed to use the restroom. She stated that they had no public restrooms and that I would have to go somewhere else. I explained that I was a customer and had to go urgently. She stated that it was company policy and that there were no exceptions. The manager backed her up. I ended up (the profane word) in my pants after leaving the bank. This bank has shown a diservice to their customers and does not deserve business to those they supposedly serve. I will be transferring my business elsewhere. (I had made that statement to the teller who informed me that this was my prerogative and couldn't care less

Two stars given due to the years of good service prior to the card issue... I have been a loyal customer for almost 10 years. I received a notice that my credit card is going from a fixed 9.9% rate to a 17.9% adjustable rate. When I contacted the bank, I was informed that this is an across-the-board increase. It looks like it's time to find a new card and a more convenient bank to bank with. I dealt with the long, inconvenient location because I felt there was value with them, largely due to the credit card. I understand they are a business and the high interest rates set by the federal government right now are a contributing factor. At the end of the day, my decision to leave will be just that—a business decision.

Recently, I made a deposit into my checking account from a credit union. I was given the availability date of when the funds could be released to me. The day before the funds were supposed to be released, my bank account was locked, my bank cards were inactive, and I was informed that the fraud department was involved. Apparently, an employee of the Edmonds branch decided to flag my account for fraudulent activity and sent it to the fraud department. Now, I can't pay my bills, which I am sure will result in extra charges to restore services that will be interrupted during this lock. I have deposited out-of-state checks and cashier's checks before without any issues. After the lock has been lifted, I will be looking at opening an account with a credit union and advising others not to open an account with Banner Bank.

Banner bank was always amazing to me it was sad that a minor misunderstanding from the assistant manager Vince at the Rialto, CA location that started with freezing my bank account over a mobile deposit and telling me to come to the branch where he proceeded to raise his voice and scold me for not coming into the branch vs using mobile deposit like I was some child. I told him on the phone and to his face when I got there that I called and asked and everything was approved. Where in your TOS or policy does it say that I have to do what you’re asking. It does not obviously he said it would have been a professional curtesy and that I should have know to come in and then asked how old I was at which point he said “you’re old enough to know these things”. It was at this time Vince began to walk up to me and almost get nose to nose with me like he wanted to fight. It was the most uncomfortable and unprofessional treatment I had ever seen at a bank shortly followed by the branch deciding to no longer provide banking services for me. If it was not for Vince and that whole incident, I would have given banner a 5 star review and still have my account because everyone else along with their exceptional customer service team deserved it.

So many mistakes in creating CDs and putting into the correct account. Spent all day today to get them done correctly. Still cvannot get statement until next month. The manager would not accept responsibility that the newest agent did not have all of the training to open the CDs correctly and that she should teach him the process, not abuse the customer with a 5 minute rant.

Their frauds! 13th year in a row now I’ve mailed in a check to them for escrow shortage, due to skyrocketing property taxes, and they never adjust my mortgage! The phone number is a fake in the statement, as it lists a fake extension number that does not exist! 3 different customer service reps confirmed that for me this year. After just getting off phone with them after 3 calls and 2 voicemails, they NEVER HAVE CALLED ME BACK after a week, I called again, I spoke to a manager Jennifer, she confirmed they cashed my check 2 weeks in the 1/11, the statement didn’t generate until 1/17 and they NEVER applied it to my account to lower my mortgage! My check was cashed and it was sitting in limbo at Banner Bank! She said since they had hundreds of loans, they “didn’t have a chance yet to apply it so lower my mortgage…”. She went on to say she’d “do me a favor and apply it now and my next bill should reflect correct mortgage payment “. I work at a bank and have banked with Chase for over 35 years. Never have I seen such terrible service and handling of customers accounts. Cashing customers checks and not applying them to their accounts but keeping it for companies profit is a form of embezzlement. I would never trust Banner Bank to handle my personal accounts. It’s scary having to call to find out the extension number they print on their statements does not exist, and I have to call to investigate where they put my money, because it was not applied to my account. This is dirty banking, and someone should be investigating banner bank for these poor practices.

Would not recommend Was a customer for many years. Had purchased an airline ticket with points Seattle to Japan. Covid came, so we changed our trip to Costa Rica with very few cases. Two weeks before our trip, Costa Rica closed to USA flights. Talking to Banner Rewards Travel unit, they were going to credit my flight due to Covid regulations. I used over 300,000 points plus $300 dollars for the airfare. Banner Rewards NEVER EVER refunded ANY of my points or money. So literally I was screwed for about $1400-$1500 dollars!!!!! I would not recommend this program at ALL!!!!! ... Show Less

I've been a customer of Banner Bank since 2013. The staff in the branches are typically very personal and helpful. The debit and credit card side of their business is another story. I suspect they outsource those portions of their business to a third party because every time I try to get help I end up conversing with someone in India. Several years ago my purse was stolen on a Friday evening. I called immediately to freeze my debit and credit card, but they're closed evenings and weekends. I was on the phone for more than 2 hours trying to find an emergency number for someone who worked for the bank to help me. The entire time I'm watching my checking account be drained of all my money by the thief. It was traumatizing and Banner Bank didn't offer any help until the following Monday and they didn't credit my account until I filed and received approval of my fraud claim. A big bank would never show such disregard for a customer's money. Fast forward to current, Lean Start (Keto) ran a large charge through my debit card. They're rated FFF by the BBB and noted on hundreds of Google posts as involved in credit card fraud and fake supplements. I never interacted with Lean Start and immediately disputed the fraudulent charge. The address used for the card was wrong and they never had contact with me. Yet, close to 90 days later I get a letter from the Banner Bank fraud department that they ruled in Lean Start's favor. Banner Bank is incompetent and do tremendous harm to their customers. By allowing fraudulent charges to go through they are de facto accomplices. Hard earned money is not safe left in their institution.
