Many Christian dating sites offer essentially the same features and functionality, but many try to stand out using one specific feature that users won’t find at other faith-focused sites. Love And Seek has one “killer app” here that, for the time being, is unmatched by the rest of the teeming faith-dating masses -- it offers users the option to record video interactions.

This feature means you can easily give other users a taste of the real you -- what you look like in action, if you will; what your voice sounds like, what your laugh sounds like, etc. It enables you to truly express yourself as you are, rather than through answers to pre-set questions that might not get at the root of what you’re really like, and likewise enables you to see what other users are genuinely like in person without needing to arrange a date first. This is a feature that exists on some secular sites, but Love and Seek may be the only faith-focused one to offer it at the moment, so if that’s important to you, this site could be a great choice.

Elsewhere, Love And Seek offers a Tinder-like instant matching feature and overall sports a clean, modern, well-maintained design. Love And Seek, unlike most other Christian dating sites, has a very brief sign-up process. There are a only a handful of steps -- you must enter your gender, your birthday, and your email address, username and password. You’re given the option to type in a brief statement (up to 1,250 characters) about yourself, and upload a picture, but both steps are optional. Nevertheless, as the site warns members with photo-less profiles, “Until you post a photo, you're invisible…” This slimmed-down signup process might be appealing to some, but for those craving a bit more self-expression, it might feel a bit lacking, and it arguably leads to more slimmed-down profiles site wide, since other users don’t have to include much information either. Users who want to read and write a bit more when it comes to profiles should consider Christian Cafe, which puts the focus on self-expression with lots of open-ended questions in the sign-up process.

Members/Interactions

Love And Seek generally features a high level of user engagement; since the only profiles you can see are the ones with photos, the impression is of a very filled-out site. This design feature definitely feels like a plus, and it’s worth noting that many of Love And Seek’s members appear to skew younger than other Christian dating sites’ members. However, in terms of messaging, free members cannot message other members, so if you’re hesitant to spend on your dating experience, Love And Seek may be a dicier proposition for you. Free members can send “Flirt” notifications, but these are more like a Facebook poke than some other sites’ Flirt-like notifications, which allow the user to select from a range of preset messages or emoticon-based images. While the site lacks chat room and forum spaces, it still has both email-like and IM-like messaging options.
