Considers the amount of hashrate present in the Bitcoin network as a factor in determining mining rewards. Network difficulty is adjusted every ~2 weeks. The higher the network's hashrate, the more secure it becomes, but this can also result in lower rewards. Higher rewards are possible if there is a downward network difficulty adjustment.

Considers how soon the miner will join the bitcoin network and contribute hashing power.

Considers the power consumption required to generate a number of hashes per second (i.e. hash rate). The higher the hash rate for the lowest power consumption the better.

What's included in the Compass Score?

Compass Score Components

With a growing number of listings on our marketplace, the Compass Score allows you to easily compare and contrast, highlighting what we view as the standout listings. The Compass Score factors in the specific miner purchase price, monthly hosting fees, estimated online date, miner efficiency (TH), current bitcoin price, current network difficulty and whether a machine is new or second hand. Higher scores represent a more attractive listing.

What is the Compass Score?

The Compass Score is not a return-on-investment (ROI) metric nor a payback score. Do not use as an indicator for payback timeframe.

Use the Compass Score to purchase the miner with the most hashing power at the earliest online date for the lower price. The higher the Compass Score the better bang-for-the-buck it offers.

At this point in time, we do not allow customers to use the Lightning network for deposits. Bitcoin used with Compass Wallet must be on-chain. Customers can use Lightning network for payments.

Can I use the Bitcoin Lightning network?

Hosting and hardware invoices can be accessed by clicking on the Outstanding Invoices button within your Compass Dashboard. Here you can select one or several of your unpaid invoices. Selecting the Pay Now, Pay All or Pay Selected buttons will bring up a payment module. From here you can choose to apply funds from your Compass Wallet to the invoice(s). You can input the amount of USD you would like to spend. This will come directly from your USD or stablecoin balance and will convert bitcoin if necessary.

How do I pay my outstanding invoices using my Compass Wallet?

To receive mining rewards directly to your wallet navigate to the Deposit menu under Compass Wallet. Select Bitcoin and make note of the wallet address that appears. You will need to configure your mining pool account to payout to this address. Once completed all future mining payouts will appear directly in your Compass Wallet balance. Note: Be sure to carefully copy and paste this address from your Compass Wallet to your pool. Doing this incorrectly may result in a loss of funds. This address should start with a 3. Every pool account is different, if you have questions please reach out.

How do I receive mining rewards directly to my Compass Wallet?

Compass Wallet is only accessible for customers who have gone through the verification process. The verification process and Compass Wallet can be accessed in a few locations throughout the website.

How can I become Verified and access my Compass Wallet?
