What is Harry’s?

Harry’s is a men’s grooming company that sells affordable razors and cleansing products. Harry's has two options for razors: the Truman razor and the Winston razor. Both come with five German-designed blades, a precision trimmer, a flex hinge and a lubricating strip.

The Truman is a basic razor with a textured rubberized handle and a weighted core, while the Winston is made of die-cast zinc and polished chrome with an ergonomic shape and rubberized grip. Customers can purchase razors by themselves or in sets. The sets include extra cartridges, a safety case, shave gel and your chosen razor.

Harry’s also carries a wide variety of personal care products to go with its razors. Other products available from Harry’s include:

  • Shave kits (with a Truman razor)
  • Shave and shower kits (with a Truman razor)
  • Replacement cartridges
  • Razor stand
  • Shave gel
  • Shave cream
  • Post-shave balm
  • Post-shave mist
  • Face wash
  • Face lotion
  • Bar soap
  • Body wash
  • 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner
  • Sculpting gel
  • Texture putty
  • Taming cream
  • Toiletry bag
  • Travel kits
  • Travel blade cover

If you opt into automatic refills, you can choose how often to receive new blades. Options include every two, three and five months.

How much do Harry’s razors cost?

The main goal of Harry’s is to offer shaving products at an honest price. The Truman and Winston razors are $9 and $20, respectively. The Truman set costs $15, and the Winston set is $25. A pack of eight refill razor cartridges is $16, but you can save 6% by subscribing to the auto-refill option.

Face and hair care products range from $7 to $12, and shower products are between $3 and $15. Travel kits range between $30 and $35, while the toiletry bag itself costs $20.

Harry’s FAQ

Is Harry's owned by Gillette?
Gillette doesn't own Harry's. Schick tried to purchase Harry's razor brand, but the Federal Trade Commission blocked the purchase. Schick ultimately abandoned the purchase.
Are Harry's shavers any good?
Shaving is a pretty personal experience. Skin sensitivity, face shape and even the pressure you use all affect your shave quality. Many customers praise the razors for their price and sharpness, but some people report skin irritation.
How often should you change Harry's blades?
The life span of your blades varies based on how often you shave and how well you take care of your razor. Harry’s website says its blades last between six and eight shaves, but you can change them when you feel they've become dull.
Are Harry’s razors good for shaving your head?
Harry’s razors are only designed for the face. While it does have a pivoting head, it doesn’t have a fully flexible head with side-to-side movement.
Where can I buy Harry's razors?
Harry’s is available in several retail locations, including Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Kroeger, Wegmans and more. You can also order from Harry’s website and sign up for recurring shipments.

Are Harry’s razors good?

Harry's razors come at a price that's pretty hard to pass up. The kits make it easy to test the product without committing too much if you don't end up liking it. Overall, Harry's is worth a shot. With the added benefit of face and shower products, you can affordably cover nearly all of your self-care needs. Harry's has the products you need for a smooth and comfortable shave from beginning to end.

These are about 1/3rd the cost of Gillette Mach 5 Fusion, and there's a reason for that. They last half as long, and even from the very first shave, the shave sucks. It somehow manages to simultaneously not shave close enough, while also causing massive razor burn. My face hasn't looked this bad from a shave since I was 18 (36 now). Don't waste your money.

Tried this razor several several times and every time I bust out in a horrible rash. Worst razor I've ever used. Would not recommend anybody buys this razor. Wish I could post pictures of my head and get my money back.

Packed and shipped quickly, was happy until I shaved. This razor cut my face in several places. I will not use these anymore. I'm going back to Gillette which has never cut my face. The shave is mediocre compared to Gillette and my face not getting cut is important to me. I purchased the trial and 8 pack of blades. Not sure if I want to use them because of what they may do to my face.

They charge $7 and $21 for shipping and $7 takes forever even though they're in New York. And they charge extra on Amazon for everything. My 1st order was made on Amazon and they accepted my order just to cancel it later.

I’m 47 years old and I haven’t had razor burn since I was a teenager until trying this brand! Not a smooth shave but rather leaves patchy areas it misses causing you to go over the area. It’s very painful and unsightly. I go into work and fellow employees notice and say things like “Ouch. What happened to your neck?” I work in a nursing home and I have tried their cheap Bic 1 blade dime a dozen razors a few times and it might take several passes but never did I get razor burn. Not what I normally use but I’m going back to the expensive Gillette Fusion or even the generic version (which I really love because they work the same at less cost, but unfortunately I have trouble finding them!) I would post pics here if it were an option. It’s going to take a week or more to heal. I’m very uncomfortable and unhappy! Do not buy this product!

They seemed like a good company, so I purchased Harry's starter kit to check out their products. On my first shave, I cut myself pretty good. So I waited a few days and tried it again. This time I knicked myself 3 times. I'm not sure what it is about the design, but it just seems to have a tendency to cut a little too close. I've been using a 5 blade razor for years, so that's not the problem. I like the shave cream, and I really liked the face conditioner. It's too bad because I wanted to join their automatic refill service.

On a recent trip to Costco I noticed that Harry's Razors had a box set on sale, after all the hype I have heard about the company I decided to trade my Gillette razor in for Harry's. What a mistake, it felt that with every shave all 4 times that I used the product I had my facial hairs pulled not shaven even after changing blades twice. I reached out to customer support to complain and all I was told was that there was nothing wrong with their product but in how I was shaving, holding the razor at an improper angle. I think that after 50 years of shaving I would have a good idea of quality and what a good shave was like, I guess I'm back to Gillette where every shave was as good as the first with each new blade. I honestly would not recommend Harry's to anyone and the box set is going back to Costco.

The website makes it difficult and unintuitive to log out. I like to log out of any site that I've entered info on as soon as my business is concluded. This helps avoid fraud. Harry's site makes it too difficult to log out. Thus causing me frustration. There should be a simple, easy way to log out.

Bought my first set of razors and a handle from Costco of Harry’s razors. Thought to myself Gillette is expensive so let me give Harry’s a try, the pack you buy at Costco. Directions say discard each razor after 7-8 uses, I believe. After about three shaves I start getting nicks and cuts with the Harry’s razor. Can’t wait to finish them off. Gillette 5 blade razors barely gave me nicks and cuts even after multiple shaves. I will be sticking with Gillette from now on. The pack of Gillette razors from Costco can last me 2-3 years. I shave about 1-2 times. Week. Bottom line, I never had so many nicks and cuts with Gillette that I have with Harry’s.

First time I used a Harry's shaver was on 2-day whiskers. It pulled (snagged) on the whiskers, but I thought that was maybe because it was 2-day whiskers. Tried it a second time on one-day and it still snagged on whiskers and cut the living ** out of me face and neck. Maybe you have to use their shave gel to eliminate this problem. I'm going back to my Schick hydro-5. It might cost more, but I can't continue self-mutilation with Harry's.
