General

Are there any Redbubble secrets? How to sell more on Redbubble? Are there any Redubble tips for 2020?

We have a post dedicated exactly to this! Read it here: Tips and Tricks for Selling your Artwork on Redbubble

How old do you have to be to sell on Redbubble?

You must be 16 years old. On their website they state, “Redbubble requires that all members be at least 16 years of age. This means you can not create an account or have an account created or managed on your behalf until you have turned 16.”

Uploading

Can I upload the same design to Redbubble and TeePublic?

Yes! In fact, they recommend it. If you didn’t know Redbubble purchased TeePublic in 2018. They have a blog post about it here.

How many Redbubble designs do you upload per week?

There is no rule for how many designs to upload daily, weekly or monthly but I recommend trying to upload at least one design per week minimum so that you’re consistently active.

It should be noted also that their daily upload limit is 60 works per day. On their website they state, “Redbubble was designed so you can showcase and sell your best work. With that in mind, you may upload up to 60 works per day to your Redbubble account. If you are operating multiple accounts, you must not upload more than 60 works per day across all of your accounts. If you create multiple accounts in order to exceed this daily limit, all of your accounts will be closed.”

How many designs can you have on Redbubble?

There doesn’t appear to be a total number of designs that they limit you to upload in total but there are artists with more than 1600 designs. If you feel like you have more than that, I would email their customer service team to ask.

How to make stickers to sell on Redbubble?

They have a whole how-to page dedicated to stickers on their website. SEE INFO HERE.

Designs

How many designs should I have on Redbubble?

I think you should aim to upload 50-100 designs before you expect any sales. Redbubble is a huge website, quantity and quality matter. The more products you have the more likely you are to come up in search.

Does Redbubble own your art?

No! Redbubble is essentially licensing your artwork to sell on products and the license is non-exclusive. On their website, they state, “You keep the copyright in any content you submit or upload to the website. In order to receive the Redbubble services you grant Redbubble a non-exclusive royalty-free license to use and archive the content in accordance with or as reasonably contemplated by this agreement.”

What is the best size for uploading your art to Redbubble?

You can see a complete list of sizes for all their products on their website here. I usually start with uploading my wall art size 7750x10850 (5x7 ratio) at 300dpi and create alternate sizes of products from there if needed.

Pricing

What is the best Redbubble markup?

There is no one answer for this. By default, products are marked up 20%. There are two schools of thought on pricing.

The first is that you should keep prices super low at first to generate your first sales and then slowly mark them up until the price is too high and they stop selling.

The second is that if someone really wants your design the pricing won’t matter that much. You should experiment and play around with different options and see what works best for your shop.

How to change markup on Redbubble?

You can change your markup across all your products by going to your Dashboard>Product Pricing. Or you can edit the pricing for each design. When you’re uploading your design each product will have a second tab that shows the default markup and you can change it from there.

Your Shop

Can you change your Redbubble shop name? How to change your Redbubble username?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to change your Redbubble username. On their website they state“Currently usernames cannot be changed on Redbubble as they function as your unique identifier. If you’re dead-set on a name change you can delete your Redbubble account and create a new one with the desired username.”

What should my Redbubble message to buyers say?

I think keeping it simple is the way to go here. My message simply says, “Thank you for your purchase! We'd love to see your photos! Tag us on Instagram @lymancreativeco”

Collections

How do you create a collection on Redbubble? How do you add a new collection on Redbubble?

You can create new collections in the Manage Portfolio section of your account. Redbubble has a complete tutorial page here.

How to feature a collection on Redbubble?

This is a relatively new feature I love! In your Dashboard, there is a tab called Shop Settings. There you can select which of your collections you’d like to feature.

Misc

Is buying your own work on Redbubble okay?

Yes of course! It’s great to buy your own work so you can see the quality and take photos to promote your products on social media. MORE INFO FROM REDBUBBLE HERE

My Redbubble watermark is not showing?

Watermarks are not automatically added to your artwork when your first set up your account. You must turn them on. In your Dashboard, there is a tab called Protect your work where there are options for different styles of watermarking to choose from.

How can you check sales on Redbubble?

If you visit your Dashboard there is a tab called Sales History. Here you can see your most recent sales, what is pending, what’s been shipped or what has been canceled. The sales graphs on your main Dashboard page only reflect shipped items so to see any pending sales you will need to visit your Sales History page.
