I was happy with Paylocity and had no desire to switch. Our new ERP, which was installed in late 2022 called Global Shop Solutions, and it was weak on payroll abilities. We tried to get Paylocity to work with GSS for a year and could not do it. Getting GSS and Paylocity to talk to each other both didn’t happen. Our organization went from having manual processes with systems that didn't interact each other to Paylocity. I like that they offer a variety of services to their platform that make information accessibility easy. They have great reporting capabilities and I appreciate their data insights to quickly see trends in headcount, spending, turnover and more. The product implementations felt rushed to the point that my team felt that important information was missed. If anything with the implementation needed altered after the fact, there is often an additional charge to get the product functioning the way it needs to function for your particular organization. I process payroll on a weekly basis for about 22 people. I find Paylocity to be easy to use, once I familiarized myself with its layout. I really appreciate the live customer support that is available over the phone where I am able to speak with a knowledgable representative regarding specific directions regarding problem solving. I utilized a service offered by Paylocity Tax Team to do the tax registrations for Idaho and Montana where we hired new employees. I was not kept up to date, and the team was slow to get to my request. I ended up doing the registrations myself because I couldn't get an answer on status. I won't use this registration service again. Speaking for our OpCo's I know there has been difficulty with the GL Integrations and working through the errors was tedious. There are multiple ERP systems among our subsidiaries, so the integrations are different from one another. We are in process of converting all to NetSuite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

They updated their payroll processing and move the Time & Labor to the HR payroll processing screen so there is no need to export or import any hours to HR anymore. It makes it so much easier and we can stay in one place to process payroll for both hourly and salary employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Paylocity is generally intuitive. The features are ever expanding. Processing payroll continues to become a more streamlined process. It used to take half of a workday. It's down to 1.5 hours.

Time and Labor and Performance are two regularly used modules. Most employees find them intuitive and it's helped us improve our annual review process and monitor goals.

Customer support is satisfactory, but I've yet to find a HRIS that has stellar support.

Paylocity regularly updates the modules, which can be a good thing, but does require frequent users to navigate the updates. I am still trying to get Total Rewards Statements to include all benefits. This process hasn't been as smooth as I would have liked.

There are a lot tools that are useful for our small company, such as training. It's also important for our work force to have access to their schedule and pay information through an app Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Since we have two companies, I have to have multiple logins for some tasks. Also, since I'm not technically an employee of one of the companies I'm not able to log into the app as and administrator. Reporting has always been a weak spot. Dynamic reports require to much IT experience to modify. How about being able to select specific fields to create a report. That would be ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Paylocity is user friendly and allows the client free range to utilize all aspects of the software. Paylocity is great at updating the look and feel as well as the functionality of their different components. Paylocity reps are easily reachable to solve problems and work with. The only area of Paylocity that needs a bit of improvement is the reporting. It seems a bit clunky and either too vague or too robust for the reporting choices. It isn't easy to maneuver if you haven't taken the time to go through the webinars on how to use it and the function of sharing and editing can trip you up too. The software can be OK once it is set up, but it is often times very confusing of how to use it and they have zero customer service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you are looking for a payroll software company look elsewhere. Paylocity has a two-year track record with our company of consistent poor communication and the customer service team lacking skill sets to complete very reasonable tasks. It has been beyond a nightmare to work with them and one of the most frustrating aspects of running our business. They are good at contacting you if it is in regards to upsell however, when I try to get a hold of a supervisor to resolve an issue, I get a kickback email saying that that supervisor is out of the office for the next two months. The thing I like best about Paylocity is their app. It makes doing expenses quick, painless and easy. I can take pictures of my receipts and upload them immediately - so no losing track of tiny papers/receipts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I feel the actual Paylocity site can be buggy. For some reason, it never remembers my password so I'm constantly having to log back in or reset my password. It also times out occasionally. I don't have this issue with their app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
