FAST-fit giant Kwik-Fit has become the largest service provider yet to sign up to the 1link Service network offering electronic repair authorisation.

The 1link Service network will operate through a Kwik-Fit branded website, offering a range of maintenance services both online and via the Kwik-Fit call centre.

It will be used across the company's network of 650 centres plus an additional 250 independent outlets it also owns, all making use of 1link Service network's specialist tyre module containing a database of UK tyre models and sizes. Kwik-Fit Fleet will use the 1link system in two ways.

Apart from centres using it for work authorisation and billing, Kwik-Fit Fleet's Tannochside call centre will use the network to book company cars and vans into dealers for service, repair and maintenance.

Mike Wise, Kwik-Fit Fleet sales director, said: 'The 1link system is the best fleet e-commerce product we have seen. It allows fleet customers to massively reduce paperwork and administration while improving communication and accuracy.'
