Your library account

You can update your details and manage your library account online or at your local library.

Login to our online library catalogue to view your current loans, charges, and reservations to help you manage your account. 

Updating your account details 

Library accounts expire and need updating every three years so that we can confirm your details are still correct. When an account needs renewing library staff will check your details are up to date including your address and contact details. Your account will then be renewed for another three years.    

Contact a Leicestershire library if you would like to update your account details or if you would like to close your account.  

Library Email and text notifications 

You can sign up to receive email and text alerts to be reminded when your library items are due back or when your reservation is ready to be collected. To register or update your notification preferences contact a Leicestershire library or email libraries@leics.gov.uk.  

Lost library cards or PINs

If you don’t know your library card number or have lost your library card, contact a library. There may be a charge for a replacement library card, see our fees and charges for more information.  

If you don’t know your PIN you can ask staff at any library to reset your PIN or contact us on 0116 305 2695 or email libraries@leics.gov.uk

If you know your library card number and registered your email address when you joined the library, you can also reset it online by visiting the online library catalogue, selecting ‘log in’ and ‘forgot my PIN’.
