Drop-off charges

You have until ​midnight the day after you use the drop-off zones to pay the charge, which stands at a minimum of £7

Pay before midnight the next day

​​There is ​​​​a​ minimum £7 charge ​​to use the designated drop-off zones in ​​​​​the​ North and South Terminals ​​​which must be paid​​​ by midnight the day after you use the zones. ​If you make a late payment or do not pay, you can receive a Parking Charge Notice (PCN)​.​​​

If you want to spend a bit more time saying goodbye, then we recommend parking in our Short Stay car parks. Alternatively, you can park in our Long Stay car parks for free for two hours, with a free shuttle bus supplied to the terminals.

Ways to pay the drop-off charge

The drop-off charge must be paid by midnight the night after you use the designated drop-off zones. The easiest way to ensure you do this is to register your vehicle for an AutoPay account with us before visiting London Gatwick. However to make it as easy as possible for you, there are a number of other ways you can pay the charge and avoid a Parking Charge Notice (PCN).

I forgot to pay and have received a PCN, what should I do?

If you forget to pay by midnight the following day, you will be issued with a Parking Charge Notice (PCN). You can pay this online or appeal your PCN by clicking on the link below which will take you to the NCP website, who administer the drop-off service on London Gatwick's behalf.

Specific details of your PCN and supporting evidence will be found on the letter issued to you.

Guidance for dropping off passengers
​​P​​​assengers ​can be dropped ​off by car outside the terminal buildings in the designated drop-off zones.

Drop-off zone locations

The drop off zones are conveniently located on the forecourt outside both North and South Terminals, just a short walk from check-in and departures. 

To ensure free-flow traffic and a quick and easy drop off experience, there are no barriers on the forecourts – simply drive in, pull over in the designated bays, drop your friends and family and drive out.

North Terminal Directions

  • From the direction of London or Brighton, exit the M23 at junction 9 following the signs on the roundabout for Gatwick Airport
  • Go straight ahead at the first roundabout (J9a) following signs for the North Terminal
  • At the next roundabout take the first exit signposted North Terminal
  • The North Terminal drop off area is on the lower level between the Sofitel and the multi-storey car park.

  • Use the filter lane and turn left at the first roundabout (J9a) following signs to the South Terminal
  • Follow signs for Drop Off
  • The South Terminal drop off area is located on the lower level.

Drop-off charges

You have until midnight the following day to pay the drop-off charge. rates are as follows:

  • £7 for 10 minutes
  • £1 for each additional minute up to 20 minutes
  • There is a maximum daily charge of £27 and a maximum length of stay of 30 minutes

Blue badge exemptions

Blue badge holders are exempt from the drop-off charge and can register their vehicles via NCP.
