Who will Arsenal sign in January? Latest news and rumours ahead of the transfer window closing on January 31

Arsene Wenger linked with series of big names but will Gunners break habit and splash cash in winter window?

ARSENAL are just about keeping in touch with in-form Chelsea - and could strengthen their hand with some astute signings in the transfer window.

Arsene Wenger has never been a fan of doing too much business in January in the past, but he has admitted he will make a move this time round if the right players become available.

The Gunners have plenty of money available to spend, and they can also free up some extra cash by offloading some fringe players who are attracting interest from around Europe.

Who are Arsenal’s rumoured transfer targets?

The good news is the Gunners have already done some January transfer business - but it wasn't the player fans were expecting.

Wenger managed to tie down Cohen Bramall from Hednesford Town on an undisclosed fee.

Germany star Julian Draxler has been a long-term target for the Gunners, but Wenger has been frustrated in his attempts to get his man.

Having fought hard to keep hold of the 23-year-old last summer, Wolfsburg finally let him leave for Paris Saint-Germain.

Defensive problems of the past seem to have been resolved this season, but Arsenal are still looking for future talents and Marseille's highly-rated teenage defender Boubacar Kamara is one they are keen on.

The Gunners are also scouting for a new striker, and the one that has jumped high on their list of potential targets is Italian international Andrea Belotti.

Torino striker Belloti has impressed in Serie A this season, but the Gunners would face competition from Liverpool for his services.

Rumours have also linked Arsenal with Borussia Dortmund teenager Christian Pulisic - but given Jurgen Klopp was in charge at Dortmund when the American came through the ranks, he could be better suited to the Liverpool boss.

Who could leave Arsenal in the January transfer window?

Having lost his starting role to Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud has emerged as an effective impact player coming off the bench this season, but he is far from happy.

Giroud has admitted he doesn't want to play second fiddle for long and though Arsenal will try to rebuff any interest in January  there are plenty of clubs interested in signing him, including West Ham.

The Gunners are also lining up 22-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Guillaume Hubert as the long-term replacement for Petr Cech, according to reports in Belgium.

HLN.be is reporting that the Gunners have watched the Standard Liege keeper several times ahead of a potential swoop for the 6ft 6ins custodian.

And though he made a rare start against Bournemouth, full-back Mathieu Debuchy looks surplus to requirements and could head out on January.

The Gunners signed one player in the 2016 transfer window, by splashing out £10.6million to bring in Mohamed Elneny from Basel.
