Venus Accounts: Using password reset option in VCS but not allowing login with new password.

Potential Symptoms

  • Using "forgot password" password reset option in VCS and now not allowing login with new password.
  • Received email to reset the password, put in new password and shows it's incorrect.
  • Verified password is correctly being entered.

Cause

  • If an incorrect password was used to access the account multiple times, the account will become locked. 
  • Customers should get an email that looks something like this: locked account.jpg
     
  • Using the "Forgot Password" link will reset the password, however it does not unlock the account.
Account admin can also view locked accounts. 
  1. Launch Venus Control Suite and log in by following Venus Accounts: How do I log in to Venus Control Suite? .
  2. Click Menu button on the top left corner of the software.
  3. Click on Users in the Menu panel.
  4. In the Users page, the locked accounts will have an indicator.  User account locked.png

Resolution

  • For locked accounts, contact your system administrator or Daktronics at 1-800-325-8766 to unlock your account.
