This petition is to address the strike notice issued by the University of Northern British Columbia’s Faculty Association. This is addressed to UNBC’s Administration and to the University’s President Dr. Daniel J. Weeks. This petition is meant to demonstrate to the UNBC Administration that the UNBC Faculty are supported campus-wide by the student population. 

We, the students of UNBC, are frustrated that the disagreements between the UNBC FA and UNBC Administration have required the involvement of the students. We are aggravated that this lack of respectful and productive negotiation must result in a cancellation of classes, a service that we have paid for. Not only will this strike affect our education, but some students have jobs associated with the University and we are furious that this strike will eliminate some of our sources of income.

We, the students of UNBC, are supporting the UNBC Faculty Association and are encouraging the UNBC Administration to negotiate a fair agreement with the UNBC FA.

As the students of UNBC we support the FA, and request that their proposals are met. We are demanding that the best is provided to the FA, so that their rights are protected.
