This does not mean you are using the latest version of a given package. The latest anaconda distribution was released 3 months ago. Now, you are correct, no dots are allowed at the moment, but you can login from the terminal by doing $ anaconda login While a new release fixes this issue — You are receiving this because you were mentioned.
