Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again

Hi. I have been getting the error "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." For imessage and facetime on my ipad 4 16gb wifi only. This only started when I upgraded to ios7. i have tried resetting all and my network settings, changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.8.4.4.4.4, setting my time and date to automatic, and changing my apple id password. I tried to use another person's apple id to sign in but I'm getting the same error. I'm pretty sure my network connection is not the problem because my parents are both using iphones and have upgraded to ios7 but imsg and facetime still works for them. Help?

iPad, iOS 7, null

Just to let you all know I have just got off a 40 minute call from Apple and this has now been resolved.

I reset my full iPhone.....YOU have to ensure this is backed up before you do this as it basically starts your phone as a new phone. Once you have set your phone up and gone through all of the process, sync it with your Itunes and it restores all of your old data back onto it. This has solved my issue

Hi all, I have just fixed this issue on my daughters and her friends iPad, problem with iMessage and FaceTime, when you try to sign in it tells you to check your network.

No need to do a full back up and restore!!!

Go to Settings / General / Reset / Reset all settings.

This will not cause you to lose any photos apps or media.

Please note you will need to reset your time zone and wifi settings etc once you have completed this task so make sure you have your wifi key to hand.

Once it has restarted and you have re-entered the time and wifi settings go back into

Settings / Messages and sign in to iMessage using your Apple ID and password.

Then

Settings / FaceTime and sign in to FaceTime using your Apple ID and password.

All sorted. Enjoy.

I've have the same issue on the iPad running iOS 7. 😕

Resolved by synching time and rebooting.

1. Connect to Internet

2. Settings-->General-->Date & Time

3. Set time Automatically = YES

4. Then cold reboot. Hold Power button down 5 seconds and confirm shutdown (release power button). Wait 10 seconds and press power button again to turn iDevice back on.

5. Sign In into FaceTime (Settings-->Facetime) Launch FaceTime and answer a few questions to set up your preferences.

Hope it helps.🙂
