I've been running iOS 5 sense the first beta and opened an iCloud account, and also had 10.7.2 installed. My iCloud account has been great.... until it finally came out! It logins fine in iOS, but on my mac not so much. I had to use the Reversioner on the 10.7.2 beta before I could install 10.7.2 final. Now I can't login in the iCloud section in system preferences, it displays "You can't sign in at this time". Help??

FOR ALL of you with the similar problem (and I had it too) turn off little snitch and everything should go no problem for icloud configuration. I will turn LS back on afterwards.
hope that helps

Alternative solution.

I had these same symptoms today (unable to log in to iCloud through System Preferences). However, I could connect just fine if I used a different user account on Lion (with the same Apple ID and password). I don't use Little Snitch and toggling the built-in firewall didn't help.

This lead me to the solution for my issue: deleting the ~/Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts folder.

You Saved Me a WHOLE BUNCH of time ...

"This lead me to the solution for my issue: deleting the ~/Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts folder."

Too bad I didn't find this earlier, but glad I did as it worked for me too!

Thanks much!

Tried your solution since i have the same issue after upgrading to Lion yesterday.
However i don't see a Library folder in my user account, only on system level
So i can't delete an iCloud accounts folder

The folder is there but it is "hidden". You can enter a terminal command to UNHIDE it but I could not quickly find it. You should be able to find it via Google Search or maybe someone else will have the command.

Found Library folder, but no iCloud folder?

I managed to unhide the library folder, but it contains no iCloud folder.
Tried adding one manually and then tried to log-in to iCloud again, but alas, didn't work either.

More suggestions?

It should be under Application Support which you are not showing. Looks at the post that gave your the path.

Lastly, I am not having this problem I am just trying to help with the path question.

I changed the image in my post to the proper folder. As you can see it is nonexistent.

Can anyone point me to a solution???

Problems logging on with icloud

I too have the same error message. I can download the iCloud software but as soon as I try to log in to back up I get the same message saying that I can't log in at the moment. I have been in touch with livedrive support many times and I have tried everything they have suggested either by phone or by e-mail instruction. I have a new Macbook air OS X 10.7.2 and was sold the iCloud system by pc world but have so far been unsuccessful in using it.

The frustration continues

Oh, man, I was SO happy when I found this thread!

It had two sensible sounding suggestions -- about turning off Little Snitch and deleting the iCloud Accounts folder in Library's Application Support folder -- that I hadn't thought of and could easily try.

I was SURE one or the other of then would do the trick.

Alas, no, neither makes a difference for me.

I still can't log in to iCloud on my Mac.

:-(

This worked for me

I went to Keychain Access (in your Utilities folder) and deleted all items belonging to either MobileMe or Me.com and then quit Keychain Access. After that I was able to successfully login with the iCloud System Panel without the error. Hope this helps!

Still no joy and a (vague) new theory

Thanks to themacwizard who reported success after he

deleted all items belonging to either MobileMe or Me.com and then quit Keychain Access

Upon seeing that, I immediately went to try it, but it turned out I had no Keychain items associated with MobileMe or Me.com so I couldn't delete them.

FWIW, I was recently at the Apple Store in Grand Central Terminal and, having time to spare, thought I might try to get a quick Genius Bar appointment and discuss this problem there. Unfortunately, it was late in the day and there were no slots left, but the (non-Genius) store employee I was talking to asked what my problem was. When I told him and added that I could connect to iCloud from a newly created account on my Mac, he said that suggested "corruption" in my main account. He said if I brought in my Mac they could fix that for me. However, he didn't explain the nature of the corruption or what they would do. I haven't had a chance to follow up on this yet, although I plan to.

In the meanwhile, has anyone here ever heard of this explanation and solution?

@Moshe Feder:

Yes, that is a normal diagnostic approach that helps isolate if the issue is a software or hardware problem. If you create a another user account and the problem is not there when logged in with that account, then the issue lies somewhere in the other user account. If the problem persists under both accounts, the issue may be more system oriented or a hardware problem.

Ok I am fairly new to Macs. I do not know how to dig in deep and correct problems but I too am having the "you can not sign in at this time" error". If I remember correctly it started when I did one of the upgrades. I found my keychain access and did not find anything in there that is showing my user name that I am currently using. I also tried to do a search for "little snitch" and did not find anything. What is that and where is it located? I really hate not being able to use my iCloud on my Mac so I can sync all my photos and stuff with my iPad. It is a pain in the butt. Please can some one help me? I am so darn lost.

A very annoying bug...

Ok, so I was stuck on this too and none of this helped. However, I logged into one of my other accounts that I had not setup yet from the update. I skipped the welcome iCloud setup and then proceeded to the iCloud Panel in Sys Prefs. Signed in effortlessly... I can't get my main account to work but at least this one does :D Oh well...

Way to go Apple, innovate first, debug later...:apple:

I fixed it on my Macbook Pro...

I was struggling with this for DAAAAAYS.

Then I remembered that I had enabled WEB PROXY and SOCKS PROXY in my Network settings.

Turned 'em both off...reconnected w/o issue.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers

I can honestly say I've tried all of the above and nothing is working.

I'd tried a couple of things before finding this thread, but the new things I found on here don't work either.

Dammit.
