  • 1. What is Flipboard? How do I use the Flipboard app?

    Flipboard is an app that aggregates news and other content and presents it in a personalized magazine-like format. It is available for iPad, iPhone, Android and Kindle Fire. You can visit flipboard.com for more information on the features and functionality of the Flipboard app.

  • 2. What is The Times's relationship with Flipboard?

    Flipboard has content from a variety of sources, including The New York Times. Nearly all of our sections, multimedia content and blogs are available in the Flipboard app.

    Existing NYTimes.com digital subscribers with the correct subscription can access full content through the Flipboard iPhone, iPad, Android and Kindle Fire apps by logging in to their NYTimes.com accounts. On Android-powered devices, nonsubscribers can purchase an NYTimes.com subscription directly within the Flipboard app.

  • 3. Do I need to subscribe to get access to NYTimes.com on Flipboard?

  • 4. How do I get full, unlimited access to NYTimes.com content on Flipboard?

    Flipboard iPad, iPhone and Kindle Fire Apps
    To get access to all of the NYTimes.com content on the Flipboard app, you have to subscribe to an NYTimes.com digital package and sign in to your NYTimes.com account through the Flipboard app.

    Flipboard Android Apps (Smartphone and Tablet)
    To get access to all NYTimes.com content on the Flipboard app, you may either purchase an NYTimes.com subscription directly within the Flipboard app, or subscribe on NYTimes.com and then sign in to your NYTimes.com account through the Flipboard app.

  • 5. How do I sign in to my NYTimes.com account on Flipboard?

    To sign in to your account, tap any Sign in to The New York Times button that is displayed while browsing NYTimes.com content on the Flipboard app. Enter the username and password associated with your NYTimes.com account.

    You can also sign in to your account by tapping the Content Guide red ribbon in the right hand corner of the Table of Contents.

    From the Content Guide, tap Accounts, scroll down to the Add an Account section and tap New York Times. Enter your NYTimes.com username and password for full access.

    Note: After signing in with your NYTimes.com account, you will only have full access to all NYTimes.com content if you have the correct subscription for the Flipboard app you are using. For more information, review the different apps and subscriptions required.

  • 6. I'm having trouble logging in with my NYTimes.com subscription account. Who do I contact for assistance?

    If you are receiving an error when you are trying to log in to your NYTimes.com account in the Flipboard app, contact New York Times Customer Care at (800) 591-9233 or flipboardcare@nytimes.com.

    No. You do not need the NYTimes app to read NYTimes.com content on the Flipboard app.

  • 9. How often does Flipboard content update?

    Content will be updated in the Flipboard app throughout the day, just like content in the NYTimes app.

  • 10. Is there a difference in the content available in the NYTimes app and the Flipboard app?

    Nearly all NYTimes.com content will appear in the Flipboard apps. However, due to copyright restrictions, some third-party content cannot be displayed in the Flipboard app.
