I clicked on a federal election poll on ********. Nowhere did it show the poll was being conducted by Epoch. I was required to enter my email address to see the results of the poll and only after that was done did I realize the poll was actually an ad by Epoch. Since then I receive daily emails containing newsletters I never signed up to receive. It appears I cannot simply delete my account myself; the only option is to unsubscribe from newsletters individually but Im not subscribed to anything! I feel the Epoch Times operates under deceptive practices, all with the aim of getting people to sign up for paid subscriptions. I have submitted a request to customer service to delete my account entirely and STOP sending me emails.Business Response

I responded to a public opinion survey sponsored by the Epoch Times. When I requested a response to my input I used a gmail account reserved for spam, to avoid companies I do not want flooding my ******** is to be noted that I answered the survey on an active Gmail account. A week or so ago, I received notification on the spam account of a bill for 17 dollars and change. Since I had no reason to believe I owed The Epoch times, I ignored the message. On or about April 15th, I entered my ****** account and noticed a withdrawal for the previously stated amount. I could not understand HOW I had authorized this payment. To the best of my knowledge I clicked cancel on the recurring payment. Today, April 23, I noted another transaction in favor of The Epoch Times, in the amount of 34 CAD. The I noticed an earlier extraction of 34 CAD on April 11 that I previously had not seen.I contacted ****** and filed a complaint stating that I do NOT authorize further payments to The Epoch Times. The one agent who was helpful, informed me that The Epoch Times had no less than four iterations giving license to make automatic withdrawals from my ****** account. The agent also told me that it was possible that by logging in to read articles in The Epoch Times, I may have re-authorized the company to continue to withdraw funds. I assured the agent I would never again sign in to The Epoch Times, and I also asked for her assurance that no further withdrawals be permitted by The Epoch Times from my ****** account. She assured me further payments would not be permitted, as I (again) cancelled authorization. I suggested to her that if this is the means by which The Epoch Times, does business ****** should not permit transactions from that newspaper. She assured me that she would open an investigation into The Epoch Times. I notified the ****, stating that the practice as described was deceptive, dishonest and possibly fraudulent. In the meantime I am out approximately 84 CAD.Business Response

Epoch Times sends numerous emails daily. Their goal is for me to sign up for paid news. They bait the email with a news snippet, and after looking at the email, they ask that I sign up for a monthly subscription. I never signed up for these emails. I have Unsubscribed over 40 times. They continue to harass in spite of asking for them to stop.Business Response

In 2023 I was somehow signed up to receive emails from the epoch times and tried for months to unsubscribe and reach someone to take me off the list but I just continued to receive emails. I had filed a complaint with BBb then and it was solved after months. Recently I started receiving them again and have been trying to unsubscribe again but keep receiving them. I find their company offensive and so t want to keep receiving these emailsBusiness Response
