My brother is currently having this issue and can't get into his PSN ID. Right now he is having the most BIZARRE interaction with Sony customer service.
They told him that his account has been put on a temporary ban. When he asked why, they said they weren't allowed to disclose that information. So he explained how he pays money for this service and kind of demanded to speak with someone who could tell him what was going on.
He's still on hold and nobody can seem to tell him why his account was banned. He was starting to get fed up and said "OK, it's fine, can I just cancel and get a refund for my remaining 6 months?" And the woman on the other end said, "If you wear clothes for 6 months of the year and return them, do you get a refund?" Wtf haha
Anyway, he's been on hold for about 30 minutes and keeps getting transferred. Nobody seems to be able to tell him what's going on.
