FAST Assessment

This school year, all 6-8th grade students  will take the FAST assessment.  FAST stands for Formative Assessment System for Teachers and is an assessment suite developed by the University of Minnesota.  FAST has been adopted by schools in 37 states and has over 14 million users.

All  students will take both the FAST aReading and aMath assessment in the fall, winter, and spring.

Both assessments are computerized and will take approximately 20-30 minutes.  As well, each assessment uniquely adapts to your child’s level of learning based on your child’s performance.

FAST assessments help us to determine your child’s instructional level and will allow us to measure his or her reading and math growth.

More information about FAST and the vendor, FastBridge, can be found at www.fastbridge.org.

If you have specific questions, please feel free to direct them to your child’s ELA or Math teacher.
