Great service when used in central Austin. Been waiting over 7 years for them to cover Mopac n Parmer area. No luck. No hope. No streaming service as option as many cable providers are doing during Covid. Great customer service. But lousy business plan. They advertise in areas they don't service. They are not a new start up. Years they been in Austin.

Do NOT use Grande! Their customer service technology is still in the DARK AGES! I?m a long time Grande customer. Grande expects me to use TWO different User Id's. Sometimes I need VOLKING and other times it's FVOLKING. Both ID's have different passwords! One connects to my bill. The other logs me onto their internet TV portal. "sometimes" one ID works with services like CNN.GO and HBO.GO but more often than not, I get "There was a problem retrieving your customer details from your provider, please try again later." Plus, for some Grande things I'm REQUIRED to use Grande's email server, like Volking@Mygrande.net ... I don't want another email address! Do you want In-Your-Face-PROOF? see- https://password.mygrande.net... TO RESET MY PASSWORD I MUST KNOW MY PASSWORD! Aaaarrrggghhh! DARK AGES! I live in a senior retirement community that prohibits satellite dishes, otherwise I'd have switched to Direct TV or Dish a LONG time ago. Frederick Volking - Pflugerville, Texas

As always, the phone and in-person support are wonderful at Grande. They always respond promptly and work until everything is resolved. They're also locally owned.

We switched to Grande Communications from Time Warner after moving. We like the affordability of their cable and internet plans. We've had no issue with speed or quality of the product. Installation was fast and taken care of earlier than expected. However when it comes to getting unrelated technical issues addressed, the company doesn't make things very convenient. For example, to change which outlet the internet is routed to, or to address an issue with the DVR (recordings skip the first five minutes before eventually smoothing out) we have to expect a trip fee, and a four to six hour service window on a weekday. This is particularly bothersome with the DVR issue considering it appears to be a defect in the hardware. I recognize there are limitations to how easy they can make this, so I wanted to leave this review to tell people to make 100% sure they're satisfied with the installation before the guy leaves. Otherwise it's no small task getting something fixed.

We have been Grande customers since Grande started sometime in the early 2000's. Over the last few years, we have had serious, long-term ongoing problems maintaining an adequate internet connection and connection speeds with Grande. Our connection speed can be as low as 0.1 MBPS. We have placed numerous calls to Grande over the last few years. In the last month we have had three service technicians visit our property. Each of these visits have required my us to take time off of work. Two of these visits were required due to mistakes made by technicians. We were assured by the last technician that our service would be functioning normally; however, this has not happened. It is unclear to me that Grande is able to either provide adequate service or appropriately troubleshoot their service. I am at a loss for how to receive the service that we pay for from Grande.

The service had WAY more content than my previous TV provider. One thing did happen at day four. I walked outside with my remote, came back in and the service had gone off and I couldn't get it back on again. Couldn't figure out what had happened and still don't know. Could have hit the wrong button or something. However, I called their tech department, got a TECH WONDER, who had me back up and running in mere minutes. Basically a reboot. That really impressed me. The guy was clear, courteous and quick. Kept me informed about everything we were doing and what to expect and man, that's CUSTOMER SERVICE in Dayglo Orange as far as I'm concerned. I got maybe two people in over 3 years with another carrier who seemed actually customer-centric, and the first one at Grande is a SUPERSTAR! Sorry about the capitals, but I am shouting. He was first rate. Plus, I am paying less with more features; You-TUBE even. What's not to like? The Internet is also four-and-a-half times faster with Grande, and only ONE WIRE is all I need to run my computer! If it proves to be reliable from this point on, I will definitely keep it.
Description of Work: Ordered combined TV, telephone and Internet service on April 30th for a new address we moved to. All services have to be installed on the same day, but techs did come out two days prior to do some outside prep for the install. Services were installed competently and professionally on the appointed day.

The guy that came out to install Grande Communications hardware was very punctual and very professional. He did a nice very quick job. Their price is considerably better than that of our previous provider, and there is no contract.

I kept having service problems with the “other” cable company, which kept saying the problem was in my house or was my computer. When I called Grande to switch, I spent no time on-hold and scheduled installation for the next day. The installer was great -- he called me 30 minutes before and showed up early. No waiting around all day for an 8-5 “window”. He was dressed professionally, was quick, knew his business and cleaned up all the existing wires that had been shoddily installed on the side of my house by the “other” cable company some years ago. It didn't take that long, probably less than 2 hours. Best part is whatever was wrong has been fixed. Now my cable doesn’t go out all the time and I have yet to lose internet connection. BTW, 12mg internet rocks, I’ve been speed testing it periodically and have yet to see it slow down. I can watch TV episodes online and now my NetFlix movies never lag either. I needed help setting up my e-mail account, not only did I speak to a support tech who spoke my language and I could understand, he was in San Marcos, not halfway across the world. I also loved having the NFL package all fall – I never had to worry whether my team would be on network. I also switched my phone service to Grande, my total bill is lower if I add what I was paying to the other cable and phone companies. Only issue, my first bill sort of surprised me as it was higher than I expected. But I called Grande, again no waiting on hold forever, and the billing rep walked me through the pro-ration of my partial 1st month being tacked onto the 2nd month which I forgot about. I’ve gotten two more bills since and both were within a couple bucks of what the sales rep estimated (the sales taxes were the variable).
Description of Work: I switched to Grande for my phone, internet and cable. They came by my place to connect my service. I got an HD-DVR box, a cable/internet modem, and my phone hooked up.

I am new in this area. I have listened to neighbors complain about services. After a little research and a whole lot of frustration with competitors, I found Grande Communication TV cable to be just what I was looking for. I did not need a brain numbing 300+ channels and found a nice middle of the road program. However, the best thing was a real human to speak with, professional installers, and follow up after service. I tried to get information from dish companies and cable companies through internet and phone. I recommend Grande to any one. They get A+.

Although I was original promised "free installation" in the promoted deal, after I went through the long signup process on the phone, they surprised me by saying I would have to pay $20. The amount is no big deal but I wondered if I was dealing with a bait-and-switch. IN FACT, THIS ASPECT OF THE PROMOTION IS DISGUSTING: The prompt postcard I received has its fine print in tiny yellow letters on white background! Impossible to read! As far as the finished product in each of the three categories: 1) Broadband Internet: I seem to be getting a consistent 6 megabits per second download speed. A-OK. 2) Digital Television: mediocre designed menus. Inferior to Time-Warner. 3) Telephone: Inferior to other VOIP services in terms of features included...but do get free long-distance US/Canada. (I only got it because of package deal.) BUT I DESPISE GRANDE TELEPHONE FOR THIS REASON: They sold my name/number to solicitors and within 20 minutes of my connecting a phone, the onslaught began.
Description of Work: I took advantage of a Grande Communications package deal for Internet access (broadband speed), digital cable TV, and telephone service. One technician installed all three in accordance with my specifications. I had hoped that they would install to my back yard studio/workshop as well as my house but they would only spend the time allotted on one or the other so I had them do my new studio/ workshop -- but the tech left for me plenty of phone wire, ethernet cable, and cable TV coax cable so that I could do the house myself. (But take their promise to do up to three "stations" as part of the installation with a grain of salt. Only one was done and I had to do the others.) The installation technician was a nice guy and followed my instructions exactly. Excellent quality installation. However, I had to make compromises at some points because he didn't have necessary parts in his truck. (Had I known, I might have provided them myself so as to do things in the best way.)
