How to create an account on periscope?
Periscope allows viewers to connect directly with the host or the viewers through the use of real-time comments. Here is the quick guide to signing up on Periscope using Twitter, Facebook, Google account or phone number.
Periscope is an application that allows you to share and participate in live video streaming with the broadcaster directly using your smartphone or tablet. It can be used to capture the atmosphere of an ongoing event or an important match, or just watching somebody walking around in the streets of Los Angeles.
Viewers can connect directly with the host or the viewers on Periscope by sending hearts and real-time comments. Apart from the visibility of broadcasts to everyone on the platform, you can make your broadcast private by choosing to show it to selected viewers.
Periscope can be downloaded on an Android device. In order to use Periscope, you need an Android device running 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher. Your Android device should have both front and back cameras.
There are some devices that are not compatible with the required OS. In case your device is not supported, you can always watch broadcasts via the web.
How to create an account with Twitter application?
Step1: Go to the Periscope application and tap 'create a new account'.
Step 2: Tap 'Twitter' on the login screen.
Step 3: Then, log in to your Twitter account.
- If the Twitter application is installed on your device, you can log in with the application.
- If the Twitter application is not installed, then enter your email or phone and Twitter password.
- If you have more than one Twitter accounts on your device, you will have to choose the one you want to sign up with.
- If you have a login verification setup for your Twitter account, you will need to complete the steps before you create the Periscope account.
Your Twitter profile photo and bio will appear on your Periscope account.
Step 4: Now, enter your name.
Step 5: Choose a username for Periscope. You can select from the suggested list of usernames if you have signed up using Twitter, or you can choose a unique one.
Your username should be unique and have at least two characters. If the username icon turns red, then the username is unavailable.
Step 6: Your bio information gets transferred over from Twitter, but you can edit your Periscope profile whenever you wish to.
How to create an account with your phone number?
Step 1: First, you need to have a Periscope application on the phone you want to sign up with.
Note: You will not be able to change the phone number linked with your account in the future.
Step 2: Go to the Periscope application and tap 'create new account'.
Step 3: Tap 'phone number' on the next screen.
Step 4: Fill in the required information.
Step 5: Tap 'send confirmation code'.
Step 6: Now, you'll receive a text with a confirmation code, enter when asked.
Step 7: In case you face trouble, tap 'resend confirmation code'.
You will get redirected back to the login screen to create your profile and username. Your username should be unique and have at least two characters.
Step 8: When you sign out of Periscope, select 'log back in'.
Step 9: Then select 'phone number'.
Step 10: For logging in again, you will need to enter your phone number and a confirmation code again.
How to create an account with Facebook?
Step1: Go to the Periscope application and tap 'create new account'.
Step 2: Tap 'Facebook' on the next screen.
Step 3: Then, log in to your Facebook account.
- If the Facebook application is installed on your device, you can log in with the application.
- If the Facebook application is not installed, then you will get redirected to a Facebook website to enter your email or phone and password.
- If you have a login verification setup for your Facebook account, you will need to complete the above step before you create the Periscope account.
Step 4: Now, enter your name.
How to create an account with Google?
Step1: Go to the Periscope application and tap 'create new account'.
Step 2: Tap 'Google' on the next screen.
Step 3: Then, enter your email or phone number and tap 'next'.
Step 4: Enter your Google password and tap on 'next'.
- If you have a login verification setup for your Google account, you will need to complete the above step before you create the Periscope account.
Step 5: Now, enter your name.
Step 6: Choose a username for Periscope.
