My son is just about to enroll in the SEP program.
The discount is right about 50% with a cap of $9,000.

6. Each Student may purchase up to $9,000 worth of Snap-on SEP product at List price along with one (1) roll cabinet tool box and one (1) top chest tool box for the entire period during which the Student participates in the Snap-on SEP Program.

All tools purchased under this program are for personal use of the student and not for resale.

As I said above, my son has not yet signed up so I'm not sure of all of the exact details. However other students have said that their SEP price is about 40-50% off of the online prices.
He must register and be approved and then he can only get SO tools one of two ways.
Either online or through the industrial rep for the area. As I understand no truck driver can sell to an SEP student, or rephrasing that not at SEP prices.
As well, some tools (I don't yet know what) are not available at all at SEP prices.

My son is in high school/vocational-technical school. The heavy equipment repair program he is enrolled in is recognized by SO to be part of this program.
I don't know how a person can get this deal without the credentials of being a student in a recognized program.
Sorry but I'm not going to "flip" tools. Of course the contract specifically states that tools are not to bought for resale.

Best of luck to ya!

EDIT- I just asked him if any other tool companies have pimped their wares or have given any info on special student prices at school. He said no.

Interesting.
Since you now know the answer to all your previous questions.

I now have a question-
1- My son will graduate high school/vo-tech in June 2016.
Assume he goes on to another recognized program after high school; Can he stay enrolled? Is there a time limit on SEP enrollment?
Of course never exceeding the $9K limit and other limits.

Discount is closer to 40% but its not a linear discount. Some items more, some items less. More or less the same pricing as the industrial side.

It really depends on the product as far as discount goes. Blue Point items are usually 30%-35% off while actual snap on products are 40%-50% off. In my experience as long as the student is enrolled in the program they can get the discount not exceeding the monetary limit.
I have a couple friends at a tech school back home that go for electrical/HVAC/Construction Management programs and they don't really need tools. I used to get stuff through them, but similar deals can be found on eBay. If I were in a program and had the money I'd take advantage of it though.

What do you mean you just signed up? Are you actually in an approved school/program or did you just get lucky with the on-line registration form?

I wonder because I know that at the approved schools there are actual hard copy price list in the hard copy student catalogs so if you are really enrolled you would already know the prices.

I don't have the answer exactly, I think the SEP program is limited to what is in the catalog.

The grandson is going to tech school to be a gas compressor mechanic, the school covers HVAC, auto body, mechanic from auto to heavy diesel. They have a tool sale every trimester with snap on, mac, matco, and maybe others there with tools at a deep discount as well as weekly stops at least from snap on. They can buy tools at a discount as long as they are in school.

After last weekend he needs to see about some auto body tools.

Yes. Changing schools is not a problem. Just contact the Snap-on guy that covers that school to set him up there. Students don't have to buy everything at once, and it doesn't have to be done at a single school.
