Armstrong Company Overview and History

Armstrong is part of the Armstrong Group, a diverse collection of family-owned and operated businesses that have existed since the mid-1940s in Western Pennsylvania. They had humble beginnings, at first only performing contract work for power and telephone companies. In 1950, the Armstrong Group purchased Ritchie Telephone Company and entered the telephone scene. The first cable customers of Armstrong received their services in 1963, and Armstrong became an Internet provider in 1997. Now over seventy years old, the Armstrong Group has more than 2,000 employees across the nation but remains family-owned and operated. Armstrong offers services in the following states:

Armstrong offers whole-home Internet coverage with its Zoom service. With three tiers of enhanced WiFi plans available, you can get the right service for your home.

Types of Armstrong Internet Plans

Armstrong’s Internet plans vary in price based on the download speeds, monthly data allowance, number of email accounts, and the security offering.

All three plans come with a modem and multiple WiFi extenders to give you a better Internet connection throughout your home. Plus, you get free access to the Plume HomePass® app, which allows you to control your network and all the devices using it.

Armstrong Cable TV Service

Armstrong’s EXP Stream TV service uses TiVo to offer live TV, on-demand streaming, and cloud DVR service in one package.

EXP Stream works with Google Play to provide access to thousands of downloadable apps, voice control, and a built-in Google Chromecast feature. You can also use the EXP Stream app to stream right from your phone or tablet.

Cable TV Channels and Streaming Services

With EXP Stream, you have access to 100+ of the top TV channels plus all your favorite streaming services, such as Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and more. You can also select additional channel packages to access more channels dedicated to sports, kids, etc.

Cable TV Pricing

Armstrong’s television service is $9.95/month for one TV. Each additional TV is another $5/month. Your full monthly price may vary based on the channel selections and your location.

Adding cloud DVR access costs between $6-$10/month depending on the level of storage needed.

Armstrong Phone Service

The home phone service offers local and long-distance calling for one monthly price. As a digital phone service, you can manage your voicemail and calling features online or from the app. One of the best features is a paid add-on called Privacy Defender — a security system that eliminates telemarketing and robocalls.
