Changes to PubMed's MyNCBI login

Changes are coming to PubMed's personal login for MyNCBI, SciENcv, and MyBibliography. Beginning in June 2021, users will no longer be able to sign in with an NCBI login. Users instead need to sign in using federated account credentials such as Google, Microsoft, or an institutional login, e.g., a CNetID or UCHAD ID. To log in with your UChicago credentials, select “More login options” from the 'Log in' screen and select University of Chicago. Authenticate as usual.

If you have an NCBI account you will need to link it to another account in order to retain your saved information. To do so:

  1. Go to https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/account/ and log in using your existing NCBI username and password.
  2. Click on your username in the upper right to view your NCBI Account Settings.
  3. Under Linked Accounts click the 'Change' button and select your preferred account, e.g.: University of Chicago, Google, NIH & eRA Commons, etc.

Additional information, including how to link your NCBI account to another one, read the full announcement.
