Target? Walmart? Where?

Jenna , on July 19, 2018 at 1:58 AM Posted in Registry 0 12
My fiancé and I are starting to talk about where we might register. We shop at Walmart ALL the time and like a lot of the items, but, some forums say that target is better off for wedding registries. We like target just not as much and rarely shop there. We also like JCP but it doesn’t seem like many people register there. Bed bath and beyond is huge for registries but I feel like everything is so expensive there. Does anyone have suggestions on mixing? Like Walmart and JCP or Target and BB&B? Or any ideas? I don’t want to do both Walmart and target but definitely one or the other

Personally I think you should register for stuff that is going to last you a while and worry less about price. I don’t shop at Walmart so I can’t speak to their quality but we registered at BB&B, Crate & Barrel, and Pottery Barn. We have a range of products on our registries from $10-$400. I’ve discovered people are very generous when it comes to weddings and want to get you quality things that will last in your home for years!

Another option can be amazon but I think you should register where you want and like and not where most forums say is better. If you prefer Walmart and JCP then go with Walmart and JCP since you like a lot of the items there. I agree BB&B is so expensive...

My favorite store is Target Smiley smile well also Costco and of course amazon.

Wait so you can actually put in wedding registries for more than just place? I figured that would confuse guests and you run the risk of getting double of the same thing no?

No it’s good to have a couple registries to give guests options. And you don’t register for the same things at different places.

We registered at Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Amazon. That gives people an affordable option, nicer option, and easy option. As a PP said, quality and durability are important for registries because they should generally consist of items that last a long time. We shop at Wal-Mart a lot by necessity, but the stuff breaks more quickly. If you register there, try to also register at one higher price quality store.

I also thought BB&B was very expensive but after setting things up with them and comparing prices I realized that isn't true. They often have sales and always have coupons which often makes the items less than they are other places. Bed bath and beyond also has both cheaper and high end products. FH and I opted for cheaper things and splurged on a few items. Just beware that if you don't want them to follow you around as you scan just tell them that. Also you can use the app and just scan on your own if you prefer that. They also tell you ridiculous suggestions like you need a million items on your registry and that you need so much in different price ranges. They are just trying to make a sale, do what is best for you.

We chose Kohl's as our second registry option. They still provide tons of sales and coupons to keep costs down. They also offer a cash back program where we get a percentage back from each item up to $200 to spend in the store after our wedding.

Totally depends on what you need or like.

amazon is super popular & easy, plus you have a vast amount of items and brands (electronics, decor, luggage, etc)

PB, Crate and Barrell & Williams Sonoma have beautiful items or bedding and are easy for guests to buy from, make great shower gifts.

Check out Zola too. They have many popular products and you can register for things like “honeymoon fund” , or “dinner on our honeymoon” or “gift of skydiving”. My FH loves those kinds of gifts. Probably because I’m the only one that cares what kind of pots we have 😂 he thinks it’s great to have an experience and more personal than an item it your house you may not use. He’s got a point!

We registered at bed bath and beyond and Zola. I compared princes of the same items on both sites and selected the most economical for my guests. I really like bbb because everyone knows it and can get coupons. Our items rage from $15-$500. I made sure the items we selected were durable, had good reviews, and a good price point. That way if anything does break or get ruined I can replace it.

People want to help set you up for your marriage and life with quality items. It's OK to register for more expensive things. I personally wouldn't register at Walmart for this reason, Target is a maybe.

We're registered at Amazon because you can register for a wide range of things and add items from other stores/sites. We have prices ranging from $8 to $200. Registering at Target and a higher-end store like BBB, Macy's, or Pottery Barn is also an option. Also, keep in mind BBB isn't really that expensive once you factor in the 20% off coupons that everyone always has.

I don't think 2-3 registries is a bad thing, as long as you don't register for the same things from different places. I'd do Target, since it's a little nicer? We are registering for nicer things than we would probably buy ourselves!

We registered at Walmart, Amazon, and Target. That way there were a variety of price ranges and multiple places to choose from for those who might be picky about where they buy! I love our target registry, which is mostly like decorating stuff and housewares!!
