If the Denver Broncos want to compete for a title in 2021, they probably need to bring in a franchise quarterback (such as Aaron Rodgers). Denver has a window to compete this fall before eight key players are scheduled to become free agents next spring.
It’s hard to imagine the Broncos winning a Super Bowl with Drew Lock or Teddy Bridgewater in 2021, and if Denver doesn’t contend this year, several key players might miss their window to win with the Broncos.
To give the team the best chance to win now, Denver should be aggressive in its pursuit of Rodgers. If the Broncos don’t upgrade the QB position, the team might be headed for another mediocre season before potentially losing several key pieces to free agency in 2022.
