I was contacted by Miller Motte College in SC Heather invited me to come in, I felt a bit pressured because right away they had me on a computer and talking with financial aid to see what I qualified for. I was told the school is nationally accredited and that all my credits could be transferred to any other college I latter found that was far from the truth most other colleges do not recognize Miller Motte and you have to take the same courses over again, they have their instructors teaching many different courses they don't know from one month to the next what they are teaching, they have instructors who are not even familiar with the course they are teaching it's mostly computer based very little instructor teaching the program they use McGraw Hill they know has flaws and is not grading students properly some instructors are going in and changing the grades manually while others are not. My first few months went well till I started learning the truth and seeing it really is a scam.

      Business response

      10/05/2021

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/08/09) */ The Complainant inquired about the Business Administration program on 12/4/20. He came in and met with an Admissions Representative and then with the Director of Career Services on 12/8/20. All prospective students are provided an opportunity to meet with financial aid. He applied on 12/8/20 and started classes in the Business Administration program (offered via hybrid distance education) on 1/11/2021. In reference to the complainant's statement regarding being promised transfer of credit, please find the campus catalog language as follows: Notice Concerning Transferability of Credits and Credentials Earned at Our Campus Each Ancora Education campus is an accredited campus that is designed to provide the student with vocational career training and is not designed to prepare the student for transfer to other institutions. Acceptance of credits earned at an Ancora Education campus is determined solely by the receiving institution. The campus cannot and does not guarantee credit transfer. Students wishing to transfer credits should first consult with the Registrar at those institutions concerning acceptance. Ancora Education campuses will provide official transcripts, for a fee, as well as course descriptions by request. Students with outstanding financial obligations will receive only unofficial transcripts, when requested. Accreditation alone does not guarantee credit transfer. The Complainant was provided with a copy of the catalog prior to enrolling and attested to reading it by signing the Enrollment Agreement. In addition, employees are not permitted to promise transfer of credit as it is up to each individual receiving institution whether to accept transfer credit or not. Employees receive training and attest to this during their onboarding process in the Code of Conduct. In reference to the complainant's statements regarding faculty teaching many courses and not being familiar with the course they are teaching, technical faculty at Miller-Motte College must have a minimum of four years related practical work experience in the subject matter they are teaching and general education faculty are qualified based on their higher education credentials. Faculty receive onboarding to ensure preparedness prior to teaching. On 7/27/21, the Complainant sent an email to our Director of Education about concerns with his grades and his experience in the classroom. After reviewing the email, the DIrector of Education contacted him to discuss his concerns and come to a resolution. The Complainant expressed that he was concerned about how he was being graded in Human Resources class, and how his instructor addressed him being out of dress code On 7/29/21 the Director of Education reached out to him again directly to further attempt resolution. . The Complainant expressed not understanding why he saw a decrease in his grades and accused his instructor of incorrectly grading him. It was determined that he lost points on his assignments because he submitted the work past the assigned due date. When addressing the Complainant's feelings about being uncomfortable about how he was confronted being out of dress code, he was assured that the instructor was only holding him accountable for the classroom expectations. He was provided the option to adjust his classes by either taking one class online (which would lead to an adjustment in his graduation date) or to take the class on campus as scheduled. If he decided to stay on campus the Director of Education would monitor the class and keep open lines of communication to make sure he has a positive experience. He decided to keep his current schedule. On 7/30/2021, the Executive Director and Director of Education called the Complainant together to address his concerns. During the phone call, he again went into his concerns about his grading. At the end of the conversation, he stated he wanted to withdraw, and said he would come by once returned to town this week to sign an official withdrawal form. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/08/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I chose to withdraw based on the lies when I enrolled but more importantly the fact the instructor was singling me out for my disability saying ta ta ta today when I stuttered while asking him a question I took this very offensive and and did not attend the next class, I latter had a passing in my family I lost two family members while my other instructor was very supportive and gave me a good grade for all my work, James R***** did all he could to one not support me while I was attending funerals, not redoing to emails about issues with the program and the fact I took the smart books Several times and was not graded the issue went unaddressed! The school obviously felt there was a issue because another instructor picked up both of James R*****'s classes for this mod. I also addressed the fact they charged 105% more than other schools with not very good reviews or ratings. Im Working with borrowers defense as well as department of education regarding my loans. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2021/08/19) */ Miller-Motte-Conway Response: In reference to the Complainant stating that he chose to withdraw based on the lies when he enrolled but more importantly the fact the instructor was singling him out for his disability saying ta ta ta today when he stuttered while asking him a question he states he took this very offensive and and did not attend the next class: As indicated in the previous response, the Complainant states that he relied upon lies regarding transfer of credit.
