Interested in learning a new language or just brushing up on your foreign language skills?
Duke faculty, students, and staff can now access Byki Online, an online language instruction resource, through Duke Libraries. This new subscription to Byki Online gives users free access to flash cards, blogs, and other tools to help you learn or revisit more than 70 languages.
Sign up for your own Byki Online account to prepare for your research, study, and travel plans this summer.
I have had a couple of IM Reference questions about how to sign up for a Byki account. (The link in the post above leads to a notice referring you to your library.)
Duke users can access Byki by going to the library’s home page at library.duke.edu.
Click the Databases tab and type in Byki.
Click on Byki and it will take you to a login page with the option for new users to sign up.
Ciao!
I would like to sign up for the language resources, but it is not clear how one would do it. Please tell me how.
It’s not clear how you sign up. The website in the link says, “Visit the library to create your account. Then use it from home or anywhere.”
It’s not clear what “the library” means, there’s no clear link to it.
Thank you for your interest in Byki. By clicking on “Sign up” you should be taken to the login page or you can visit it directly by accessing this link – https://library.duke.edu/metasearch/db/id/DUK04331
If you need additional help, please contact the library through phone, text, or email at https://library.duke.edu/libraries/askus.html
Thanks!
