How to sign in to Google Classroom: All you need to know

Google Classroom is a web-based learning platform where students and teachers connect virtually for their online classes. This digital classroom provided paperless assignments and curriculums for students. The interaction is simplified through the help of G suite services such as Google Slides, Google Docs, and Google Sheets. Students can access Google Classroom through their school’s Google suite education account. Because of privacy issues, student’s assignments are not accessible to the parents and guardians. They can receive email summaries if the teacher allows them.

There are three types of accounts in Google's classroom.

1. School Account: It is also known as Google Workspace for Education account. This account is set up as an accredited school. If your Google Workspace account doesn’t exist, then you can ask your teacher or the school's administrator to guide you.
2. Personal Google Account: This account can be set up by you or your parents and guardians. This account can be used in a school setting, like a home school, or a club.
3. Google Workspace Account: This account was set up by the organization's admin.

Here is the step-by-step guide to signing in to Google Classroom :

• Install the classroom app on your android,iPhone & iPad device.
• Click on the Classroom button, Tap to get it started.
• You need to add an account and tap on 'OK'.
• Now enter the email address for your classroom account and tap next.
• Enter your password and click on 'Next.
• A welcome message will be displayed, review it and tap ‘Accept’.
• Go through the Terms Of Services and Privacy Policy and click on the Agree button.
• If you have an Education Fundamentals account, tap I’m A Student or I’m A Teacher.
• Users with personal Google Accounts won't have this option.
• If you have signed multiple accounts and need to switch to the account you use with Classroom.
• Tap your profile image or initials at the top, then select or add the account.

How to sign in for the first time on Google Classroom on the computer

• Type classroom.google.com and click on Go to Classroom.
• Enter your email address for your Classroom account and click Next.
• Now enter your password and click Next.
• Go through the welcome message, review it and click Accept.
• If you are using a Google Workspace for Education account, click I’m a Student or I’m A Teacher.
• Personal Google account holders can't use this option.
• Now click to get started.

How to access other areas of the Google classroom:

• Go to the Menu Button to access other areas of the classroom.
• The classes option will take you to your classes.
• You can view due dates and access items in the calendar option.
• You can also review your work for your classes through the To-do option.
• Click on Settings to change your profile photo, password, and notifications.
