Removing a Samsung account from S8

Hi.

Does anyone know how to remove a Samsung account from a S8 if I can't do it through the Accounts menu? I've been round the houses (several times) with samsung support.

So here's the issue. Each time my phone starts or try to access Pass/Pay it prompts for my login, I enter the password is says i'm locked out, reset password, does the same. I've tried using my current email account which i wish to use but the phone defaults to an old one I no longer use, i would happily now log in to my device with it if it would just let me! I've been into Accounts and thought i could hold it down to try and remove but alas I have to login to do that so i'm in a catch22 situation. The irony is that both for my old and current email I know the password is fine because I can login to my samsung account online absolutely fine. I seemingly need a way to be able to remove my old account from the phone as it looks like it's got it's knickers in a twist.

Any tips beyond a factory reset would be welcome as i've had the phone for 3 years and lots on there - and no doubt the samsung backup would probably hit issues with my account been in a state of flux on the phone.

Cheers in advance

Hi Diddy Unfortunately I've only ever used my old email account on the phone. Although I know the password I've messed around so much recently it's now locked me out online too and I can't get a password reset because it goes to an old email address which has been deactivated (and I can't reactivate it)

In that area you see your register email with Samsung account?

This the screen I get when I go to accounts, where I want to try and remove it

but when I try and do anything with it it just redirects me to this login page so i'm a bit stuck. don't get any elipses or chances for options to remove it

Thank you that sounded a promising Idea ... but alas no better. Cache was cleared and app stopped but if I go to account or samsung pass it just defaults to my old email address and if I change to the account I wish to use it just gives me a "invalid ID or password" error. As I say I can login fine to Samsung account online seems my phone just does not to want to let go of the old account!

You did data and force stop?

It would only let me clear cache not data as its greyed out

And then yes force stop

Then just acted same any action such as trying to select accounts or Pay just gives me the old email address as default and won't login under old or new email address

Hi Diddy / Mustang I have some success! I managed to get Samsung support send a reset for my old email account to my new email account. I was then able to log into find my phone using the old email address and it took the password fine. Since then restarting my phone I'm no longer prompted for Samsung account and Pay works fine albeit my with my old email but I think I'll settle for that for now and when I pluck up courage I'll try changing it to my new credentials :) Really appreciate the help and pointers guys
