Located near the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama, you will find located near the historical community of Southside, this 100 year-old house which is now known as the SMITH HOUSE AT UAB. Students currently attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham reside here.
Some of our most popular amenities at the SHUBA are the canopy of oak-lined streets, the spicy scent of the near-by Dreamland BBQ, the cool summer days and cool drinks on sultry afternoons sitting on the wrap-around-porch.
We welcome you as Smith Scholar Guests to visit and stay a spell. As Smith Scholars we offer the amenities of soft bedding, as well as an on-site laundry facility.
After a tour of the house, you’ll be impressed with newly renovated kitchen, and dining area along with the Memoirs of the Founders “J. Craig Smith and Mignon Smith”. There is WIFI and Cable Television located in the Smith House. The den and the wood work of the Living Area, married with a separate Dining area as well as a “Closed Off” Conference Room exists for study sessions with privacy.
Once in your specially appointed accommodations, you may never want to leave. But when morning comes, the dining room is everyone’s favorite place to congregate and enjoy breakfast or snack.
