    We were excited to welcome the Toms River Schools Hispanic Heritage Club to Ocean County College for part two of our collaborative mini conference! Over 100 students and faculty joined us for lunch, campus tours, and interactive college and career readiness workshops. From a “What Not to Wear” fashion show to hands-on sessions covering professional communication skills and college resources with our WPE and Success teams, the day was filled with learning, planning, and inspiration.

    This event was part II of the conference series. Part I took place in April at Toms River North, where we held College 101 and Vision Board workshops to help students begin thinking about their futures. We’re proud to support the next generation of leaders and excited to continue fostering strong partnerships with our local schools!

    Connecting Communities Through ASL! Last month, we proudly hosted a certificate ceremony to celebrate law enforcement professionals who successfully completed our American Sign Language I & II courses. Each student received a certificate of completion and a pin to honor their achievement. The course was led by Professor Saundra Piscitelli. In attendance were President Dr. Monaco, Kathy Basilotto, Program Chair of the Interpreter Training Program, and members of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, who all showed their support for the program and its role in enhancing communication between law enforcement and the Deaf community.
