4. Avox & Castor Talk About Katiniss' Attractiveness (In Sign Language) - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

The 40 Year Old Virgin Steve Carell Jane Lynch
Lionsgate

For something a little different now, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 offers up a cute little aside not in another spoken language, but American Sign Language.

After Avox cameraman Pollux (Elden Henson) is first introduced to Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), Cressida (Natalie Dormer) explains that he can't talk because the Capitol cut out his tongue.

Moments later, Pollux signs something to his brother Castor (Wes Chatham) which isn't subtitled, but ASL readers have handily passed on their wisdom to the rest of us.

Hilariously, Pollux actually signs to Castor, "She's beautiful, don't you think?", referring to Katniss, to which Castor enthusiastically signs back, "Yes."

Given how fleeting and non-verbal this is, it's missed incredibly easily whether you know ASL or not.
