Is DoorDash Down... Or Is It You?

If you can't connect to DoorDash or its app, the website could be down and out of action, it might be a problem with your computer, or an issue with the DoorDash app. Fortunately, there are some quick ways in which you can figure out if the issue is a DoorDash outage or something you can control.

How to Tell If DoorDash Is Down

If you think DoorDash is down for everyone and not just you, try these simple steps to check if you're correct. 

1. Check the DoorDash Help X (formerly Twitter) account.

   This should always be the first thing you check as the official X account is a good source of up to date information.

2. Search X for #doordashdown. If the site is down for everyone, it's likely someone will be tweeting about it. Check for tweets but also pay attention to the tweet timestamps to ensure that they're not discussing an earlier time of DoorDash not working.

   Can't access X? Try other major sites like Google or YouTube. If you can't view them either then the problem is almost certainly on your end or with your ISP.

3. Check the DoorDash Dasher App Status Page. DoorDash app down? It might just be the app or it might be the whole site. Check the app status page to find out more. 

4. Use a third-party "status checker" website. Popular options include Down For Everyone Or Just Me, Downdetector, Is It Down Right Now?, and Outage.Report. All of them will tell you if DoorDash is operational for everyone else. 

What to Do When You Can't Connect to DoorDash

If no one else is reporting a problem with DoorDash, then the problem is likely something on your side.

There are many things you can try if DoorDash seems to be working fine for everyone else, but not you.

1. Make sure you're actually visiting www.doordash.com and not an unofficial clone.

2. If you can't access DoorDash from your web browser, try using the DoorDash app. If the DoorDash app seems to be down, try using the browser on your smartphone or tablet instead.

3. Close all of your browser windows, wait 30 seconds, open one window, and then try accessing the DoorDash site again. Do the same with the DoorDash app if you're on a tablet or smartphone. Make sure you're properly closing the app on Android and quitting apps on iOS.

   If the app or browser window seems to be stuck and not closing properly, try restarting your device instead.

4. Clear your browser's cache.

5. Clear your browser's cookies.

6. Check your computer for malware.

7. Restart your computer.

8. Sometimes but rarely, there could be an issue with your DNS server. If you feel comfortable switching DNS servers, there are many free and public methods, but they can require more advanced knowledge. 

9. If nothing has fixed DoorDash for you, you may have a problem with your internet connection. One such issue can be when you have too many devices using up your network bandwidth, but it can be more complicated than that. Contact your ISP to gain further help. 

DoorDash Error Messages

DoorDash can display standard HTTP status code errors such as 500 Internal Server Error, 403 Forbidden and 404 Not Found, but it can also display specific error codes exclusive to DoorDash.

• Error Code 1: If the DoorDash app displays Error Code 1, try resetting your password, restarting your phone, or uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
• 400 Bad Request Error: Restart your smartphone or restart your computer to clear this error.

If the problem still isn't solved, try waiting it out. When DoorDash is in heavy demand, it can throw up these error messages when the issue is on the app or website's end, not yours.
