Waste of time

Waste of time.

I've been a member of testing time for 6 months now. In that time I have received precisely 1 test and even that test was a last minute one that I was recruited for via email/text and not actually through my profile on the portal.

I log on to testing time every single day and every time I see 0-3 options sitting on my 'Studies' page and every time they just say I am not suitable. Its a waste of my time to keep checking and just being rejected for every single one. I am am a member of other crowd testing websites and I get so many more opportunities from those so this site is a waste of time IMO.

Also funny that the 1 opportunity I did get paid out £17 and the threshold to withdraw is £18 so I can't even get my money for it!

used to be good

used to be good. Now is not. Rarely get any actual 'opportunities' and gets me to do long surveys to see if I fit their studies (which I never have for the past two years) that they probs are using anyway without anything that comes out of it for my benefit.

Our clients often require very specific target groups for their tests, (an example: people who ordered groceries online in the last four weeks). I had a great experience using Testingtime. I found the service to be quick and personal. They went above and beyond to make sure we could find the participants we needed for a project.

A cool and colorful little side job

It might take some time and a few attempts until you actually get selected to a study (which it also did in my case) but filling in these questionnaires is not a big deal and finally taking part in user tests is great fun. By now I have done a few surveys and I even took part in an on-site user test in Cologne, so I helped a retail company to improve their shop. Payment is quick and easy. I can clearly recommend to join!

Legitimate but only to a point.....?

I'm really beginning to doubt the legitimacy of how this website / company works. I'm sure "some" people are being paid for their time, but I seem to endlessly answer questions (giving them valuable insights) yet I never "qualify" for the "studies". I'd like to know what the ratio is of people who qualify for the paid studies is versus those who endlessly answer questions (again giving insights for free) and never a paid study. Today is a prime example about my intentions for buying my next car - I answer which brands I am interested in, whether I would be willing to buy online etc. The final question says I have to have a PC and a camera - I answer yes I do, then it tells me "sorry" I don't qualify !! HOW do I get as far as the stage telling me I need a camera and a PC to then not qualify. It's useful data they get just asking the basic questions. Think I might just deregister my account.

It is fun and interesting being a tester

It is great being a tester. If you fit the criteria then the tests you get are always interesting. TestingTime pay you well for your time and feedback. The sessions can vary from 1 to 1 interviews, to group workshops, Mural board collaborations to website reviews and chats. They pay promptly within a few days. It's great if you are looking for a bit of pocket money but it won't replace a part time job. Most sessions now are online which is great too

Good!

Very good! Had an interview and used something similar to Zoom. Very professional. Received my payment after about one hour, and in PayPal around 1-2 weeks after. Recommend, will use again!

Untruthful

I wasn't paid for the last test I did. It was a remote video call. The person was late for the interview and I asked for confirmation via email. They confirmed my test, I waited and talked with the interviewer, who didn't even show his face.
In the end, I didn't get paid. I repeatedly asked for information and I never received an answer.

I was contacted and partly refunded for the test I mentioned above. I have increased my rating as it appears to be a one-off situation

Woke up to see that my wallet balance…

Woke up to see that my wallet balance was not showing the amount I had there . I wrote to support and was told that my account was blocked for what reason I do not know. How can you just wake up and block my account ? How can you deny me the fund I have already with you . I feel this is a criminal act. You take money from researchers only to block off your workers when they are close to withdrawal . It is better people avoid you than waste their precious time for nothing .
Edit: I have sent a message but still got no help . The long explanations given here but still no help . If you have any special way that I can contact you outside using the contact form, let me know. Thanks

Honest testing platform.

Initially disappointed, yet they took the time and effort to respond, clearly demonstrating that they care about their customers.

If you're not situated within a key primary country such as the USA, UK, etc, then you can't expect to receive many/any tests.

This seems to be the case with most if not all of these testing platforms, the difference being this company is transparent about it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. I'm sorry to hear that participating in a study hasn't worked out yet! Depending on the study the client is looking for a specific profile of people, so it may well be that you are not a candidate for every study.
In addition, your geographic location influences how often you get a chance to participate in a test: If you are located in one of our core markets, where we have the most clients and therefore the most studies going on, then you will be receiving more test invitations. Our core countries are Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Of course, we are always working hard to expand that area and increasing the amount of tests you get to take part in!

TestingTime has never let me down

TestingTime has never let me down. I love the fact that you can get a quote instantly on your research need without having to register, install or put up your credit card. The service itself is more like a form that you fill in and then you will get personal guidance and service from real humans, which is great. The form part of the service could of course be more intuitive and unambiguous, but since real humans are there for you all the way, the form part does it's job nicely.

overall everything you need for remote user testing

Pretty easy to use, prompt in responding to emails, quick turn around for participants and quick to find replacements. There could be better clarity in the pre-order experience, eg. I was not sure if a one-time order could be made since the web mentions price tiers (it can)

Excellent experience

Excellent experience. The study/mission was something I've never really done before but was interesting to do. The support was superb from Testing Time and from the study provider. I, admittedly, did pester them a little via email but always replied to me and always helpful. Looking forward to the next study!

It takes time but it’s legit.

I signed up for Testing Time back in March and didn’t get to participate in any interviews/user research until the middle of June. Between that time, I was receiving emails containing questionnaires seeing if I was suitable for studies about once or twice every fortnight. Once I completed my first study, they seemed to flow in a little bit more regularly. You just have to be patient and hope you meet the requirements they’re looking for I guess. In my opinion, the amount you’re paid for what’s required of you is pretty good - the pay for all of the tests I’ve participated in have ranged from £20-£45 and the longest time I’ve participated for is 45 minutes.

The minimum threshold of £18 means…You will never get your money.

The minimum threshold of £18 means you're kept on hold FOR YEARS until you're able to request a withdrawal. It feels like a waste of time - and I feel scammed as I've spent from my time on studies that take YEARS to pay out.
Avoid if you can.

I was pleasantly surprised. Top!

I was skeptical at the beginning, as I've had bad experiences with intrusive opinion polls. Here I was pleasantly surprised. The preparation is very good and informative. You can also choose the time of participation, depending on the survey. I had a 120 minute session. I thought it would be tedious ... but ... quite the opposite! All super nice and funny. I was having a lot of fun and time went by way too fast. I'm looking forward to the next time;)
Conclusion: If you have time from time to time and are not shy of contact, you should definitely take part.
