VUDU rip off no refund policy

I have a pretty decent collection of movies in the VUDU digital library. I mean I spent a bunch of money. But recently I made a mistake and purchased a single movie title, then realized there's a bundle of three movie titles with that one in it for a better price. So I got the bundle. I started to watch one of the movies. Next day I called the customer service and asked to refund the single movie I bought, and they refused to refund because I watched the movie.
Once content is accessed, no refund can be issued. Some horrible explanation for poor customer service and policy about ripping customers off. Very sad. Not buying or renting with them anymore. Never had a problem refunding anything with Amazon, digital movie wise.

Buffering at least 60% of time

Buffering at least 60% of time. Ads dont buffer at all. Im looking at a spinning wheel most of the time unless an ad comes on. Ive tried both firefox and chrome and tested my data rate at 50mbps. Customer service was an unhelpful chatbot which was clueless, so curious, i waited for a chat person for 40 min. and gave up. This service is absolutely worthless in my experience. I found a movie i wanted to watch so i tried Vudu again forgetting my last experience was the same but 8 or 9 months ago. I hope that i can remember to never log on again.

I honestly think they could be a little… more Open minded that kids can do crazy things

I honestly think they could be a little bit more understanding over single mothers who have kids who get remote happy and accidentally buy movies!!!! Even with the parental control on somehow it gets shut off!!! Pretty much calling me a bad mom because my son bought a movie last month and they seen that it was never watched just like the one that was purchased yesterday it was never watched and they still refused to give me my money back I understand if it was like a few dollars or something but this is a whole $21 that might not sound like much to a lot but to a single mom with two kids that's a lot!!!!! I've emailed I've tried to contact them and they do not care whatsoever!!!!!

Not a bad one

Not a bad solution for watching different movies online.
Of course, there are tons of video hosting services nowadays, but Vudu hooked me by its endemicity. The prices are favorable, signing up was quite fast, no troubles issuing a rent of the movie I wanted to watch. Why not to consider this one of the best
Support service is quite responsive, these guys guided me as I had problems navigating the website.

Don’t trust them with your credit card…

Don’t trust them with your credit card information. We were hacked, and charged ridiculous unauthorized charges to our credit card. Vudu refuses to refund the unauthorized charges.
We were out of town and the device used to make the unauthorized charges was never used that day. The videos have never been watched, nor are they shows middle aged adults would purchase to watch.

I purchased a movie from Vudu

I purchased a movie from Vudu. When I tried to watch it , it would not play. After contacting Vudu customer service and waiting 4 months all the while only receiving bot responses I had my credit card company refund the purchase. Then Vudu cancelled my service. Vudu became mad when I stopped them from stealing my money. Just beware and purchase from their competitors like amazon, movies anywhere, etc.

More & more restrictions

Used Vudu for nearly 10 years. They will change terms & erode the accessibly of titles you "own". I had over 75gb downloaded for offline travel viewing. When Vudu updated they removed offline viewing without notice. I had to call customer service to confirm this was the case after the play button was removed from movies. Users had to manually find & delete the now useless downloaded files. The requirements to play UHD or anything on a PC are now absurd. After more & more restrictions Vudu is near unusable for anyone who values a little flexibility.

If I could rate them lower

If I could rate them lower, I would. I ordered a movie and received an error message. I then contact Vudu to inform and to rectify the issue so that I can enjoy my movie. They disconnected the call 4 times. I then did a chat and the rep was rude and did not resolve my issue, but referred me to Roku. After contacting Roku, it was a Vudu issue, so I did another chat and the agent told me to “refer to my email”, then disconnected the chat. Worst customer service EVER!!!

Unbelievable! Terrible degradation of service all because Fandango is terrible.

Unbelievable! I've had Vudu for years and now movies and tv shows I've owned since before Fandango ruined Vudu won't even play. And forget about getting support! I opened a case 4 months ago and got no assistance at all. I got several responses that they were "looking into it" but nothing was ever actually being done. I've spent more than $2,000 dollars on Vudu movies and TV shows and I consider it a complete loss because of Fandango screwing its customers.

Astra Zeneca ads should be removed

VUDU insists upon shoving an ad from Astra Zeneca who has IGNORED the plight of AMERICAN and the world by raising prices to ridiculous highs so most people cannot afford them without needing help or making decisions like...buy my meds OR eat...AND their Chinese virus vaccine is causing blot clots and MANY countries in Europe have STOPPED USING THE VACCINE. This ads should be REMOVED because the people who watch VUDU are the very ones who cannot afford their medicines OR the risks with their vaccine!

Subtitles are terrible

Streaming quality is on par with other services. Good availability of titles. Payment is easy through Walmart account. Major issue with subtitle functionality. Text is really small when projecting through my laptop onto a 24" Dell monitor. Even on the largest setting in Vudu's menu, it's unreadable. The text boxes bounce all over the bottom third of the screen. It's really bad and that's a deal killer for me. Won't be going back until they get this fixed.

Buffer galore

We have extremely fast internet (300+mbs) and this service keeps stopping and buffering. We put on National Lampoon's Christmas in HD, but it stopped and said our service wasn't fast enough to stream this 3 minutes into the movie and suggested switching to SD. I switched it to SD and it STILL would buffer. However, with Netflix we can watch 4K movies on our 4K TV with 0 problems and no buffering. We will never rent through this service again.

Vudu's updates to Roku streaming…

Vudu's updates to Roku streaming devices disable kids mode and any pins you have set on the account to where unauthorized purchases can be made to your account. They are aware of the problem, they have been aware of the problem, they are not planning on fixing it any time soon, and if it happens to someone else after me, here are the time stamps to prove they knew about it to go to a lawyer to get your money back with screenshots. You're welcome.


Use literally ANY other streaming platform. Your information is not safeguarded with them.

VUDU will screw you over

VUDU will screw you over. You stay a loyal customer for over 10 years and then they remove the option to download content to your pc laptop for offline travel viewing. When you contact their support team, and try to navigate the language barriers, you are simply told that you agreed to the updated terms and conditions and to go buy an Apple product or use your cell phone for viewing only. I bought the movies. I signed up under the premise that I could download to my pc. If you don't want to give me that option anymore, then refund me all my purchases.

DO NOT USE VUDU!!!

WARNING!! They take money from single mothers and refuse to refund them! BEWARE BEWARE! Use Netflix, Hulu or any other streaming service NOT VUDU!!!! I explained to them that my babies accidentally purchased a movie for $19.99 that wasn’t viewed at any point! This happened during the quarantine caused by Covid-19. Their response? Sorry ma’am we can not issue you a refund. No compassion, no remorse! Take your services elsewhere!!!

Puchased about 15 digital instawatch…

Puchased about 15 digital instawatch movies from Ultracloud HD. These were early release movies that Vuvu aka Walmart sold. However when Walmart sold Vudu to Fandango they decide unilaterally to take instawatch movie out of movie collection. most of the movies were for grandchildren. Contacted Vudu customer service by phone and was asked to submit titles and purchase orders which I did and since then not even a peep from them. This is downright theft. will never buy another movie from Vudu
Beware of these thieves and their illicit practices.

Vudu did refund my money for films I was unable to view. Kudos to them for doing that without any drama attached.

Vudu came up as source for direct movie rentals, and had multiple titles that were unavailable from Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. Paid for two movies, and was unable to watch either. The movies would initiate, and run for 20 to 30 seconds, and then stop. A screen message would appear telling me to try again. After a half dozen attempts, trying 4 different web browsers, reducing malware protections to bare minimums, hard reboots on all connection devices, I looked for customer service, that struck out. I was offered refunds for both movies, and accepted the offer. Something about 3 to 5 days makes me a little nervous, but I was relieved to be rid of Vudu. They can never compensate for aggravation, and time wasted. Maybe their free stuff works, but don't pay them anything unless you're sure it will work with your internet connection, and hardware.

Several of My Movies are Gone

I noticed several of my movies disappeared. Contacted support via email and was told someone would reply soon. Over a week later, still no response. Finally I called and was told that my movies were removed retroactively because my receipt email didn't match my Vudu email. Vudu cannot be trusted.

Worst customer service ever. Really.

Vudu has the worst customer service of all time. I'm still waiting after many months for a response to 3 separate customer service communications. Requests were acknowledged, but nothing else. Search "Vudu customer service" online and you'll find lots of information about just how bad they are. Read the reddit postings about their customer service. Know before you buy. If you have any issue whatsoever with them (and lots of people do), you will not be able to get assistance. Period.
