I have been a member of TBFCU for many, many years and it seems that they still don't know anything about customer service, being courteous! I've gotten a car loan with them before which was a horrible experience but I paid off the loan way before it was suppose to be paid back. So, I decided to purchase another used vehicle a little over $13,000, I'm also putting down $6,500 as a down payment. The representative calls me to go over the loan application and it seems like they are not trying to help their members at all. I have a checking and savings account with them that I will be closing soon,,,why keep my money in a establishment that doesn't give a damn!

Really looking forward to paying my car loan off in July 2022. I called about an issue regarding insurance coverage on the car & some guy named Brian was rude to me. Once I am done with this loan, I will never do business with this terrible credit union. Representatives need to learn to be professional to customers - NOT RUDE!!!!!!!!!!

Went into this Credit Union to open up a small business account. The College kid behind the desk tells me that I would first have to open a personal account and keep that open for roughly 5-6 months in order for management to monitor my spending and saving behavior and after that they would review my application for a Business Account! REALLY? Wth, I have had Bank accounts older than this kid and you want to monitor "MY HABITS" Not bloody likely! Thanks for nothing, hopped into the car and went right over to Bank of America and opened my new Business Account!

Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union issued me checkbook's that were not linked to an account. I paid my insurance with a "fraudulent" check and needless to say my insurance lapsed. It cost me $600 to reinstate full coverage insurance. The bank offered to replace the checks with good checks but not willing to compensate me for their error.

Changing over to the Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union was a breeze. I didn't have any issues or hiccups and the bank employees made transitioning really easy. I've only been with them for a couple of months, but I haven't had any problems at all. I've always gotten my ATM fees refunded promptly and correctly, never been charged with random fees that big corporate banks seem to tag you with, and customer service is always helpful, convenient, and professional. They've made banking really easy and worry free, which I can't say for other banks I've done business with. I don't ever think twice about my money or accounts and it's really great.

I came acquainted with this bank when I relocated to be closer to my boyfriend. He had banked here for 3 years and loved it. I was loyal to my bank but thought I'd open a small joint account there with him. I wasn't impressed, their customer service reps were rude and when I asked questions about services that my bank offered they basically told me to go back to my bank. I was impressed that a small bank offered so many services and the quickness of opening the account. It wasn't the best bank but it wasn't the worst either.

After my bank of 15 years was bought and went national, I started looking into credit unions on the recommendation of my brother. I didn't know anything about them since I never thought I'd have to find a new banking institution, but now that I've been with the Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union, I can't imagine not being with them! They really treated me like I was at home and they were very welcoming. I don't have to worry about all those stupid little charges that my old bank was trying to tack on as a result of being bought out. They are fair, friendly, and reliable. Highly recommended.

As with a lot of people these days, we have a number of accounts spread around various institutions just to make sure our accounts are not all affected by any future banking problems or irregularities. We had almost all our banking with big banks previously but the press hasn't been kind so we opened our primary checking account with TBFCU. We’re pretty happy with it so far. There were a couple of errors made with the original setup but have had no problems since then. Fee-free banking is a welcome occurrence in my life. The staff are pretty friendly and are up to date on their latest regs and rules.

I joined Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union about 18 months ago after my bank decided to start charging $5 per month for some service I didn't use. I signed up for the free checking. I had to get a savings account and carry a balance of $5 to get the checking account. I didn't mind. The only problem I have had relates to their online bill pay service. It is free if you make three automated payments per month or $5.95 per month if you only make one or two automatic payments in that period. I never signed up for the service and was charged the $5.95 once. I complained at the branch and the charge was removed immediately and quite cordially. I haven't had that charge since. Since my banking needs are pretty much limited to needing a place to deposit paychecks, TBFCU works out perfectly. I like the tellers and have never had a bad experience with them. Of course, the extent of the interaction is me depositing my check and receiving some cash back from it, so not a lot to screw up. Overall, I greatly prefer TBFCU to the bank I used to use.

My review is based upon over 10 years of having an account at the credit union. While I was initially pleased with the credit union's services and friendly staff, recent years have been horrible. For some odd reason, the TBFCU leadership continues to hire semi-rude, very young and inexperienced tellers. Their attitudes leave a lot to be desired and I am on the verge of shutting down my accounts with them. It's a pity because I've recommended the credit union to many neighbors and business associates. They too have had many problems with the young and less-than-intelligent, poor customer service associates. Unfortunately the branch managers would rather defend their poor hiring habits than fix the problem. I guess losing customers is not an issue for TBFCU even during rough economic times. Thanks and good bye!

My husband and I have been banking with Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union since our early 20’s. For over 20 years, this bank has been there for us to assist with CD’s, Educational IRA’s and 5 separate car loans. Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union is like a small community where you are like family when you bank with them. They make banking easy by offering direct deposit, convenient ATM’s, all types of products (from personal loans to credit cards to home loans). Because they are small, they know us by name and soon, when my son is old enough, we plan to open a savings account for him. We do have other bank accounts, but Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union is our “go to” bank.
