- Provide academic support to Upward Bound participants who are low income and/or first generation college students in order to develop the skills and motivation necessary to complete a program of secondary education and to enter and succeed in a program of post-secondary education.**Two positions available**
These are college-wide positions and require travel to area High Schools. The home campus is Cambridge. - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology or other related field.- Education and or background in providing academic services to high school or college students.- Desire to work with persons of diverse backgrounds.- Must have excellent written, computer and oral communication skills.- Must possess a willingness to work as part of a team and work independently.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Experience providing academic services to high school or college students and/or TRIO program experience.- Knowledge of high school graduation requirements.- Experience working with low-income and/or first-generation college bound students.- Master's degree in education, psychology, sociology or other related field.- Demonstrate knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations. Anoka-Ramsey Community College, with campuses in both Cambridge and Coon Rapids, Minnesota, has been a leading provider of higher education and training in East Central Minnesota since 1978 and the north suburban area of Minneapolis/St. Paul since 1965. Anoka-Ramsey aligned with Anoka Technical College, Anoka, Minnesota, in 2011.
